Based on the previous two reviews I decided to visit the Backwoods Country Fare Cafe. What a disappointment! It took them 15 minutes to take our orders and 35 minutes more to deliver them to us. One poor waitress appeared to be working the whole place while all the other employees stood by and watched.

Maybe they were having a bad day, but I won't be going back to see if they have improved. The food was OK, but the place was noisy and the service terrible.

This place is a little out of the way - not right downtown but not that far a drive, either. It's a little bit back off the main arterial (I drove past it the first time) in a commercial strip in an area with a lot of older commercial and industrial businesses, car dealers, etc. Not much atmosphere but you don't notice once you're inside. I found this place via the phone book in my hotel room, and they also had a coupon in the phone book as well. I enjoyed a great breakfast and good, genuinely friendly service in this family-run restaurant. Some people came in behind me and were kind of rude because they had an extremely large party - a dozen or so people - and they didn't have a single table to put them at; but the waitresses still smiled at them. The homemade biscuits were awesome, and you could choose between hash browns, home fries, or "baby reds" along with your breakfast. I was stuffed!
