My Wife and I on a lark decided to go to Berkley Springs and I thought the Lodge was at the Springs. It isn't but it didn't matter. We went for New Years Eve and stayed two nights, 30-31. We stayed in a deluxe cabin ( we booked too late for the lodge). the Cabin was great. It was very clean. Well heated and comfy. There was a TV and a great fire place with wood provided (but you need kindling or an articial log. No phone or clock or anyone over head.
Towels are thin, but work and no kleenex in room that I could find. Didn't need the kitchen but it was well appointed for a cabin.
Lodge is nothing great except for the rocking chairs that face the golf course. The weather was so warm that we sat out there and rocked a while. We had dinner at the lodge both nights, Food is okay and service friendly. Desk Staff was okay but you know you are at a state park. Great grond to walk around.
It is about 9 miles from Berkley Springs where I had a Roman Bath and a message, a reat price. I give the town a 2 to 3 on the "Qauintness Scale" and the art place we went to were nice. Met on of the artists showing work. We at at Tari's and it was good, great soup large wraps. On New Year's Day we are Breakfast at the Inn next to the State Spa. The help did not show up so the innkeeper andher husband were doing dining room duty. Wife''s wafffel was good but my country ham was over pirced and dry. Oh well, don't judge this place on my experience, because if we go back to the area we will stay there.
If you've never stayed in cabin and are a litle fearful od the facilities ( our daughter had a bad experiece in an Ohio Sate Park regarding dust etc.) you should not be afraid of Cacapon.
It is Clean, Warm and Comfortable.
