My teenage son and I stayed here one night recently when visiting Antietam, which is about a 30 minute drive. The hotel was nice. What really stood out, however, was the friendliness of the staff at the reception desk. They were all so friendly! The room was fine and the continental breakfast good. This hotel was fine for a brief stay.

We stayed at this hotel on October 7, and have no complaints. A previous reviewer from Texas who stated that he/she did not care for the hotel because it was older, not clean, etc, must have stayed somewhere else, or things may have changed. The hotel seemed fairly new, everything was clean, staff were friendly, continental breakfast was above par, and the rate was reasonable, $76: $72.25 if booked through [--] AARP link. Pretty good italian food right next door.

We have now stayed at Comfort Inn Aikens Center a total of seven times, and it is our target hotel for every trip between NC and NJ. From our experience of making this trip many times, this is the best hotel for the price on the I-81 corridor. Continental breakfast is above par, outdoor pool is good, Italian restaurant across street gives a 10% discount for hotel guests. We found the place clean and friendly and have recommended it to friends and relatives. We despise smoking at the door also, but have not encountered that. Ask for a room on either end - use the end doors (with key). 4 to 5 stars in our book.

If you are in Martinsburgh, stay at the comfort inn on short road. It is a little further off the interstate but much better than this one. This hotel is older, and not clean. People stand outside to smoke so you have to walk through second hand smoke. I did not care for this hotel at all.
