This hotel was built in the twenties. The rooms have been extensively renovated we were told and our's was quite nice and very clean. The public spaces are restored and elegant. There is a restaurant on the hotel's top floor and the views are wonderful. This had been a huge ballroom (must be 8000 sq.ft. or so) at one time but was changed to a snazzy private residence. Then, when the hotel came under new ownership, the space became a refined dining room. We enjoyed an excellent dinner here and the locals regard this as one of the best restaurants in the area. The ambiance is outstanding and the food and service are quite good. This hotel is downtown and convenient to WVU's main campus. The downtown is nice and there are many interesting shops near the hotel, too. There was no street noise and we were on the third floor.

I stayed here for a WVU football game at the beginning of October. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown and is a great location for those who would like to enjoy the nightlife of Morgantown. However, the renovations done a couple of years ago are starting to age and I don't feel that the price is justified for the amenities (hotels during WVU football games are hard to come by though).

For a newer hotel, stay at the Radisson down on the wharf. It is a new, well appointed hotel with a restaurant on the premises. If you would like a hotel where you do not have to worry about catching a taxi late night back to your hotel (there are not a lot of taxis in Morgantown), Hotel Morgan is just steps away. I would stay again if location was my top priority; otherwise, I would stay at the Radisson.

The historic Hotel Morgan is a wonderful hotel located right in downtown Morgantown. It is in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the WVU campus.

While the hotel was renovated completely in the last several years, it has been able to maintain some of its old charm with original woodwork, chandeliers, etc. The rooms are very large with a large bedroom area and seperate sitting area. The entire hotel is sparkling clean.

We had dinner and rinks at Elevation 127 on the 8th floor. The food and service were both fantastic.

I highly recommend this hotel.

upon arriving at the clarion hotel i was greeted with a cold hello by the front clerk asking me to place the debit card that was used to reserve the room. i had gone to my new reserved room..small but comfortable, nice cold AC, when trying to ask about the internet high speed available at the front desk i only received smart remarks on how their internet worked no professionalism to it..in the midst of my stay there i was told that my set price was in question by a manager named Andy, first guaranteed a price when i had reserved the room then out of nowhere being told that they may change my rates per day which was uncalled for. i was very unhappy for the mannerism my rates was presented to me and i was just about ready to leave..i expected better service than this from the great clarion as it was recommended to me by friends in west virginia..for my recommendation stay clear the clarion if unless u want unprofessionalism and not guaranteed rates.
