“RainTree Resort and Waterpark”

RainTree Resort & Conference Center

The overall rating is above average for the waterpark feature! The other features were average.

My family and I just stayed at the Rain Tree Resort. We went to the resort for the waterpark experience, and we had a blast at the waterpark. It had 5 smaller slides for youth, 2 big slides for teens and adults, tunnels, water basketball, floating devices with hanging ropes, and a hot tub. The waterpark made the hotel!

However, the other ammenities and attractions for the hotel were lacking. It is a highly used resort and the wear and tear were evident. The elevator showed signs of aging. The rooms were clean, but needed updating. Even so, I felt like our room satisfied our needs for a winter getaway.

The check-in time is really 4pm and not 3pm like it is stated on the website. If you come at 3, you may go and enjoy the waterpark. Thankfully, the waterpark only caters to registered guests.

The cafe was not open during our visit. The hours were not posted either. The lounge on the main floor was open. Vending machines were not available on each of the floors. We did not mind this inconvenience because we went out to enjoy the town's restaurants.

I would highly recommend this hotel for the waterpark. If you are not going there to swim, I would pass on it.

“Not worth the $$$ Savings”

RainTree Resort & Conference Center

This was my first visit to the Dells, and it made a very bad impression on me. Although I realize I stayed in this hotel during "off peak" season, there were still so many concerns with this hotel that I felt the need to post a review.

Cons:
-Litterally, the hardest beds I have ever slept on
-Rooms are filthy, cleaning service doesn't come until 5 PM
-Furniture is very worn
-The room had a very musty odor
-No automatic check out
-Shower head was moldy
-The hotel has no irons
-Walls are extremely thin. While staying in a waterpark hotel, I expect to hear children running around late at night, but I could hear kids running around the floor below us
-The smoke detector low battery "beep" went off and was beeping from 9:30-11:00 at night. The front desk was notified at 9:30, but didn't fix it until 11:00, when another patron ripped the battery out of the alarm.
-If you are into visible tattoos on the staff members and appreciate staff members smelling like smoke, this is the place for you.
-The bar staff does not do a good job of "cutting off" drunken patrons

Pros:
-Location was good
-Waterpark seemed to be fun for the kids (would suggest 12 yrs or younger)
-Arcade was fun for the kids (12 or younger)
-Adult beverages were appropriately priced

The Iowa Rockets Volleyball Club used the Raintree Resort as our Club hotel during our stay in the Dells for a Volleyball tournament. I found the hotel and indoor waterpark to be very pleasant and enjoyable. The price was very good for winter rates. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The bartender was even very helpful. We ended up stranded at the Raintree an extra night due to an ice and snow storm. Even with the bad weather and probably shortage of help due to the snowstorm, the entire staff went out of their way to make everyone comfortable. It ended up being quite an adventure. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and several within close walking distance.

“Worst Place I Have Ever Stayed”

RainTree Resort & Conference Center

I have traveled quite a bit and BY FAR this was the worst place I have ever stayed. On our way down to the hotel, we called to confirm our reservations. They told us the only showed they had records for 2 out of the 3 reservations we made. TWO HOURS LATER, the hotel called back to say they found the other reservation with no apology at all, just hung up the phone. To start with, we were there to get married in the Dells. When we checked in, the front desk clerk was rude and did not say "Hi" or "Thank you" just grabbed my credit card and did the paperwork(which took a mind numbing 30 minutes). After her rudeness, we went to our rooms. One of the rooms was NOT what was promised, as we had spoken to the hotel many times on the phone not to mention booked online. I went back to the EXTREMELY rude front desk clerk to ask for a manager. She said there was no manager on duty and no idea when one would be there. We finally did track down a manager. We told him what we would like to resolve the situation. He never called us or spoke to us after that conversation. Absolutely the most unprofessional staff and the worst managed hotel I have ever seen. I have been in customer service for years, and this is not the way you treat customers. There were several guests sitting around when I complained and ALL of them were nodding their heads at my complaints.

“Toooo Dirty”

RainTree Resort & Conference Center

Hi needed to tell you about the Raintree Resort at Wisconsin Dells we stayed there for a couple of days, I would not recommend it, the rooms were so filthy. The couch, chair, and bed spreads were all full of stains and the carpet looked so dirty, there were crumbs from I don't know how old between the beds and night stand. Then I had some extra bogus charge on my charge card and when I called to ask them what this is for, they said for linens, my eyes must have popped out of my head, I asked her what are you talking about, she said she wasn't sure, I told her that when I got out of the shower I pulled a towel off of the rack that was full of set in stains, and asked her is that what they are charging me for, a stained towel that was given to me by their staff, she had no clue, I also told her how dissappointed I was by their hotel she didn't really sound like she cared.

I will never stay there and will tell others also never stay there.
