I stayed at the Raintree with my husband and 13-year-old son to watch my daughter who was playing in the JVDA volleyball tournament. I booked online and chose this hotel because we liked the layout of the two-room suite; there were diagrams available online. Too bad there were no accurate photos of the rooms! Their design is overly themed and poorly done, the furniture is cheap and worn, my son says he found nail clippings on the couch, and there was an uncomfortable dent on one side of the box springs of my husband and my bed. Furthermore, the linens were paper thin from over-washing (and being of poor quality to start with), many of the cheap, scratched and worn light fixtures didn't work, and their shades were yellowed. Everything was basically tacky and grungy. The service was also ridiculously bad. It seemed as though the place were staffed by teenagers who had no concept of customer service with no management whatsoever. If that weren't enough, there was no snack food available on the premises except for ONE vending machine with a poor selection, so when my son was a little hungry at 9:30 after we went to a movie, we had to go outside (and it was cold!) to get him something. Also, even though we were gone for most of the day, they never came to service the room. All of this, and what I consider to be much too much to pay especially considering it was not high season, made our stay in Wisconsin Dells something we will never consider repeating.
