My wife and I made reservations for a Daybreak Scenic Float down the Snake River with Marc (the owner of Teton Scenic Floats) in April 2014 for our visit to Jackson in August. Marc called us at our motel in Jackson the night before to suggest we might enjoy the Lunch Scenic Float instead, due to the frigid early mornings. How perfect this turned out to be. We were picked up at Cowboy Village Resort at 11:15 by Marc and our guide, Carsten. We then picked up a young family of 4 and headed to the launch area just south of Jackson. After buckling up our life jackets, Carsten shoved off for a wonderful 3+ hours on the scenic Snake River. Carsten is a delightful young man, originally from Alabama....but quickly becoming a Teton native. Not only does he pilot the rides down the Snake, but he also leads fishing groups and in the winter teaches skiing at the Jackson Hole ski resort. Plus, he is full of jokes and stories. We stopped after 90 or so minutes for lunch (provided by Marc) on a sandy shore loaded with moose tracks. Delicious.
During our float, Carsten challenged us to find as many eagles and/or nests as we could. Many were found.
Marc operates a small operation in Jackson and we urge all visitors looking for a Snake River Float to contact Teton Scenic Floats.
