This was our first trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone so we decided to pull out all the stops. We booked at the Teton Mtn. Lodge because I was impressed with their website, but also with the staff I spoke to on the phone. I am glad I did because they made our entire experience one to remember.
On our arrival we were greeted and shown to our suite by Mario, the bellman who instantly became friends with my two young boys by showing them they had their own flatscreen TV in their room and telling them how to get to the pools (1 indoor, 1outdoor).
The suite was stunning, with lovely views of the ski slopes above us, clean and comfortable furnishings. I had no problems with the televisions or plumbing or anything else in this charming set of rooms. The bed was as comfortable as my own back home.
What stood out more, though, was how the staff made our entire vacation better. They recommended Jackson Hole Whitewater and helped us book a raft trip down the Snake River that my boys still say was the highlight of the week - over seeing Old Faithful, watching a grizzly bear through binoculars or hiking in the rugged beauty of the Grand Tetons.
The amenities we used, we enjoyed. I didn't visit the spa, but we lover the pools. The gym area seemed top-of-the line, but with all the time we spent outdoors I didn't feel the need to add any workouts. The café on the lower level offered a breakfast buffet that was outstanding. My boys devoured the bacon and challa French toast and I savored the eggs Benedict and apple-chicken sausage.
Overall, our stay was delightful. The only categories I couldn't rate excellent were 'value' - simply because the pricing, which I rated very good is still more than I would usually pay (I am a notorious bargain hunter); and the spa- which we didn't use at all. My boys are asking me to ring them back in the winter so they can ski and board and enjoy the same "super-awesome hotel." I hope we will.
Our suite had wonderful view of the ski slopes which could only get better in the winter. I reccomen...
