I'd stay at this property, but not with RE/MAX. They don't stock the unit with enough toilet paper or paper towels and refused to provide me with more even though they charge top dollar. They had a huge attitude when asked. I have stayed in rentals all over the world and multiple times in Hawaii and have never been denied toilet paper or paper towels. Their check out time is 10 AM which is ridiculous considering their check in is 4 PM. They also were very misleading regarding their check-in telling me to go to their office which was closed instead of to the property directly. They do not supply daily maid service like Outrigger either. Lastly, they charge way above market value in this time in the economy. They offered no deals or discounts, and private owners or Outrigger are the way to go.

Waipouli is amazing as far as the location, pool and units. The only weak point was that they have only 2 barbecues on the whole property which were usually either occupied or out of gas. We had a great unit for sure, G404. I'd avoid the units facing the street/mountain if at all possible. Overall, an amazing spot; very clean and new and a nice pool. You cant swim in the ocean, but that goes for most of the East shore.

Beware of Partial and Mountain View Rooms

We stayed here for one week. We also stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu. First the Outrigger is not a resort. Second the partial mountain view rooms are right on the parking lot. Our unit did not have a lanai- just a small ledge. When we opened our sliding glass doors we could touch our car. The problem of course is that our view was of the parking lot and everyone coming and going could see into our room. So we kept our shades closed the entire time. It was like a being in a cave. The inside of the unit is new and very nice. The bathrooms are luxurious. Each unit is individually owned and decorated. Our unit lacked a dresser. This meant there was no place to unpack many of our things.

The partial mountain view rooms are on the first floor with a view of the parked cars. The Mountain view rooms are on the upper floors with views of the parking lots of this place and the Safeway shopping center across the highway. The Outrigger is not set back from the highway and there is no buffer from the apartment buiildings next door. So I do not think the partial or mountain view rooms are worth the cost. It seems to me the people who love this place all had ocean view rooms. We had a Mountain view room at the Grand Hyatt and it was just that. A view of the mountains with no sign of a parking lot, highway or shopping center.

We will go back to the Grand Hyatt, but we will not be coming back to the Outrigger Waipoli.

Great place to stay

I would highly recommend the Outrigger Waipouli. Our family of 5 adults and 6 kids (9-17 years) stayed in 2 two bedroom condos from 31 July 08 for 2 nights.

As all the reviews state the condos are superb. They are spacious and have everything you need. The beds were super comfortable. The only minor complaint was that the water pressure in the showers was really low. I know that this is for water saving purposes.

The grounds of the resort are lovely and all of our kids loved the meandering pool. The pool snack bar was great and so was the beachside bar.

The beach is not really swimable but the bonus was that there were Monk seals right in front of the resort on the beach every day! It was just wonderful to see them.

Having the shopping centre across the road was a bonus. So easy to just run across for snacks/drinks etc.

There are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance from cheap to more expensive.

We were only at Outrigger Waipouli for 2 nights and opted for the cheaper mountain view rooms which did look across the street toward the shopping centre but as we were not in our rooms much it didn't worry us. The money we saved on the cheaper rooms we used to do more activities. We didn't have any traffic noise with the doors closed.

The ocean front condos looked wonderful and if you are willing to pay the extra you would not be disappointed.

The location of this resort makes it easy to explore the rest of the island.

Just returned from Kauai...my husband and I, my mom and my two teenage daughters stayed at the Waipouli Beach Resort. We stayed in an oceanview 2 bedroom condo. By far this was the fanciest place we have stayed in!!! The interior of the condo was awesome!!! The kitchen had appliances that were magnificent! Having free wireless internet was great for the teenagers. The beach was so close although not swimmable. That did not bother us because the pool was excellent. I even went down the waterslides and ran in the water in the lazy river section. (for exercise) The bar had happy hour specials each day. We had a passionfruit margaritas one afternoon!

The check-in staff was courteous and friendly. Loved the fact that Safeway was across the street to get groceries for the week. Shopped at ABC store and Long's Drugs for souvenirs, also. Being in Kapaa, we were like in the middle of the island, convenient to drive to Princeville, and to the south to Poipu and Waimea Canyon.

The only negative comment my teenage daughters stated was there was no full length mirror in the whole condo, but otherwise we were all happy with our stay. I would recommend the Outrigger Waipouli Resort!

We were married on the beach in front of the Outrigger Waipoli July 18th, 2008. It was the perfect place to have our wedding. The Condo's are magnificent. Plush, Quiet, Roomy, on the verge of extravagent! The pool is pristine. We were 100% satisfied with our choice to have all of our friends and family stay at the Resort. It was nice to have the full size kitchens to prepare meals together. The in-unit washer/dryer was great for drying swimsuits and towels at the end of the day. Plus 3 flat screen tv's and 3 bathrooms! It was hard to decide between the 2 rooms which was the master bedroom. They were both very nice. Oh, and the linens, towels, and beds were sooo soft. We slept sooooo good!

The staff at the Tahitian Lanai did an amazing job catering our wedding. They were professional and accomadating. The food was delicious. The decorations beautiful. The Waipoli Outrigger is the perfect place to have your wedding and reception if your party is 20-
30 people.

Mahalo.

Thank You for the memories that will last a life time!
