My partner and I have stayed at The Inn San Francisco several times in the last 15 years. There is no better bed & breakfast inn, and we have stayed at several. The houses (there are two, one built in the late 1800s, one built in the early 1900s) are beautiful, particularly the main house which is a grand Victorian. The rooms are gorgeous, furnished with antiques, and truly give you a feel of what life might have looked like in the Victorian era. The breakfast is sumptuous. We're not talking sweet rolls here. They serve fresh baked breads and muffins (baked that morning), quiche (baked that morning), hard-cooked eggs, fresh fruit, ham and salami, cereals, fresh orange juice, wonderful coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Joseph Schmidt truffles are provided in the room daily (a local San Francisco candy maker -- the best), as well as fresh fruit. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate is available all day, as well as sherry. There is a wonderful garden to relax in, and a hot tub that is beautiful and romantic. There is a roof-top patio that affords guests a wonderful view of the entire city. The common areas are welcoming, beautiful, and make you feel right at home. Fred, the Inn's manager, goes above and beyond the call of duty. The bottom line is you are made to feel like a guest, and you are treated like a guest in the best way possible at all times. You get your money's worth here, and it is money well spent.
