Eight of us showed up at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. The place was sparsely populated and the hand written signs on the doors made us pause. However we were hungry and looking for some spicy food. So we marched in. It is a large place with plenty of floor to ceiling glass windows. The ambiance is more of an American cuisine restaurant with a full bar than a Thai restaurant. Discovered that they are open till midnight but the kitchen closes at 11:45.
The menu is extensive. Their web site does not do them justice. Most dishes are in the $7-9 range. We started with mango salad followed by a chicken, a pork, a beef, a prawn, a vegetarian dish and a fried rice. The waiter asked how spicy and we said medium but give us the hot sauces on the side!
The food came reasonably quickly. The portions were large and easy to share across eight people. The spices were just right with each dish having its own flavor, texture and presentation. The coconut rice had just the right flavor and did not overwhelm. Overall a delicious meal.
We wrapped up with two orders of sticky rice with mango, and there was sufficient to go around.
The service was excellent with no hesitation to bring out fresh plates or ice or fresh forks. It was reasonably easy to communicate with the waiter even though it seemed that English was his second language. He earned a good tip.
