This is definitely worth the wait - which could be up to an hour. We have come to this restaurant for many years - every time we come to San Francisco. Old and VERY popular place - as you can tell by the wait. It opens at 8am but the line will already be long so be prepared. The homemade breads are scrumptious but everything else is, too. Tastly and sweet fresh fruits, puffy (and large) omelets but this time my husband ordered the Monte Cristo and it was terrific. We KNOW good Monte Cristo's and this was a very good one. Portions are large, staff very friendly and they work hard. Don't miss this SF landmark when you come here. We have never been disappointed in all the years we have eaten here. They serve lunch but we always come for breakfast...lunch looks terrific and from our past experiences, they MUST be good, too.
