My husband and I had a pleasant stay here for 3 nights in June. The location was great, walking distance from the train station where we had travelled from the airport on BART (as it was San Fran, we had to walk up a hill but not one of the steep ones!). It was also close to Cable cars, Union Square, China Town, Lombard Street and we walked to the piers in 40 mins. Bed was comfortable and continental breakfast was provided which, although basic, saved us time and money on getting breakfast elsewhere. Despite some minor negatives (see below), we enjoyed our stay and happy with the price we paid compared to others in the same area.
Wi-Fi was not available in our room and was not always working on the first floor. The room furnishings and bathroom were dated and the glass shower screen seemed fragile so I was always nervous it was going to break when sliding it! The AC was quite noisy so light sleepers will need ear-plugs. There is no hair-dryer in the room but reception can provide one on request (however, there is some delay if they need to try and locate one and you have to return it once used instead of keeping it for the duration of your stay).
