In general the hotel was not a bad place. My mistake was not checking it out more carefully since I really dont like exterior doors to the rooms. Thinking that all Holiday Inn Express hotels were interior halls I looked no further. The room was clean, but a bit shabby. The furniture was pretty beat up and the bathroom area (tub/toilet) was pretty small, not too much room to turn around. But I think that is all part of the layout of these types of rooms. Location was a plus as it was only a short drive to the Biltmore Estate and into town for shops and dinner. The staff was pretty helpful with directions and suggestions and information on parking in town. The only other thing is the drive way into this hotel is a bit of a hill and not very wide....it makes the entrance and exiting a bit complicated. Would I stay here again? - probably not but only because of the "exterior door" issue.

Over the years I've grown a little leary of staying at the Holiday Inn, I have to say this stay changed my mind. We found the staff to be very helpful and the rooms to be clean and comfortable (no crude in the corners of the bathroom+++) , I would recommend this location to anyone visiting the Asheville area. We paid around $114.00(tax & add ons included) for 2 double beds.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting the Biltmore. Very clean, friendly staff, no complaints whatsoever. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn Express. The rooms are nice, staff members were helpful, and the breakfast was good. It is a pretty good location. The Biltmore is about a 10-minute drive; those wanting to be closer to the Biltmore and downtown area may wish to choose a place closer to that part of town. We did not try the pool or the exercise room. There is a small mall practically across the street, which was very emply people-wise but it had a decent selection of stores for its size.
