We made our third trip to the Lion and the Rose in October, 2007, and this trip was as wonderful as the first. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I love to read and the lighting is perfect for reading in bed or in a comfortable sidechair. We're thinking of yet another trip to the Asheville area, and that's what prompted me to write this review. We wouldn't think of booking any place other than the Lion and the Rose.
We are drawn back for the scrumptous breakfasts and for the relaxing, laid back hospitality provided by the innkeepers. Jimmy puts on a super spread in the morning. No danish, fruit and coffee here! And he and Linda don't impose themselves on you. If you want to chat, they will and you'll enjoy the visit. But if you just want to be on your own, that's fine too.
