“A suite stay”

The Lion & The Rose Bed & Breakfast

1 Apr 2008

We recently stayed in the suite and had a fantastic time. The hosts met us as we arrived and gave us a wonderful tour of the property as well as all the extras available at no charge...snacks, water, soda, fruit, and tolietries. We felt very welcome and safe.

The suite was a fantastic retreat with a large sitting area, room for probably 4-5 adults, a jacuzzi tub, and a gigantic two-person shower. The linens were soft and the pillows were plush, and obviously the owners thought of every nuiance when preparing this room.

Breakfast was ample with fruit, tea, coffee, and a main course. By far one of the best bed and breakfasts we have have stayed in over the past few years.

“Super Hosts”

The Lion & The Rose Bed & Breakfast

10 Mar 2008

We made our third trip to the Lion and the Rose in October, 2007, and this trip was as wonderful as the first. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I love to read and the lighting is perfect for reading in bed or in a comfortable sidechair. We're thinking of yet another trip to the Asheville area, and that's what prompted me to write this review. We wouldn't think of booking any place other than the Lion and the Rose.
We are drawn back for the scrumptous breakfasts and for the relaxing, laid back hospitality provided by the innkeepers. Jimmy puts on a super spread in the morning. No danish, fruit and coffee here! And he and Linda don't impose themselves on you. If you want to chat, they will and you'll enjoy the visit. But if you just want to be on your own, that's fine too.

We spent two nights at the Bed and Breakfast for our first anniversary weekend and really loved it. The house is beautiful and decorated very nicely. The owners have gone out of their way to ensure that your every need is taken care of. Breakfast in the mornings was wonderful, and their dinner recommendations were great. We would HIGHLY recommend The Lion and The Rose.

The Lion and the Rose is one of the finest B&B's we have ever stayed in. Linda and Jim have decorated their home with exquisite taste and every detail is carefully handled, including coffee served to your bedroom door at 8am. We have traveled extensively and stayed at many B&B's and this one exceeds all expectations. The rooms are lovely, nice linens, bath amenities, plenty of light for reading in bed. If you are going to Asheville, this is the place to stay.

The Lion & The Rose is the first B & B my husband and I have ever stayed in. We loved every minute of our time there, from the time we walked in the door and were so warmly greeted by one of our hosts, Linda, to the moment we left, after having one of Jim's remarkable breakfasts. We have traveled extensively and have never had such a superb morning meal anywhere--not to mention the delightful conversation we had with Jim and Linda. The surroundings are just gorgeous, as well...a cozy and beautifully decorated downstairs, and our room was both elegant and comfortable. I have never felt so spoiled in my life!! We didn't want to leave. Anyway, we will definitely stay there when we are in Asheville again--and would highly recommend that YOU do the same!! Terri and Leonard E.
