I have been to Fenway many times for games but just took the Fenway Park tour for the first time. If you are looking for a good family event at a value in Boston - this is worth it. Compared to several other attractions in the area, you can't beat the price. The ballpark has tremendous history and if you are a fan of baseball then you should put this on your list.

Personally, I think the tour is a bit misleading and they have made every effort to profit from your visit. They claim that the tours begin every hour on the top of the hour. We arrived at 1:30 for a 2:00 pm tour and were told that the next available tour was 4:00pm. On the surface, I thought we just had some bad luck on timing but then we talked with a lot of people who were told the same thing. We never saw any other groups lining up at 2 or 3pm. Our tour tickets included a 10% discount at the Game On restaurant (owned by Fenway). The restaurant was packed with people attending the 4pm tour (coincidence - I don't think so).

They also told us to meet at the Red Sox souvenir shop a half hour before the tour. Needless to say, there were over a hundred people on the tour wandering through the souvenir shop (another smart marketing ploy).

The tour spent quite a bit of time on the history of the park and the Red Sox. We learned a few new things about the beginning of the park and the ownership. They took us to 4 different locations within the park including the Green Monster seats which was the highlight of the tour. But because the group was so big, they couldn't do a lot of talking since you could not hear them anyway. We spent a lot of time getting to each location and milling around because of the amount of people.
Naturally they take your picture and try to sell you a souvenir picture at the end. We took plenty of pictures and chances are you can take a better picture yourself and use it as a souvenir.

The most disappinting part was not being allowed on the field (or even near the field) and no tour of the press box (both of these were listed on their site as stops).

All in all it is a good value if you have multiple kids when you compare it to a day at the Aquarium and great memories for the kids up on the Green Monster.

I thought I knew a lot about Fenway Park before the tour. I had also been to a lot of games. Even if you are a season ticket holder, it doesn't hurt to take the tour. Not only do you get to go everywhere in the ballpark, you get some good history, and some unique stories that you don't normally hear on a broadcast. Like the story of the guy who got hit with the Ted Williams ball as he was passed out asleep. Check out the tour. It even gets you to the Monster Seats.

My husband and I just returned from Boston and took both the Fenway Park tour and attended a Red Sox game. Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a baseball fan; my husband is a baseball fan, but not a Red Sox fan. That said, we had a great time and would highly recommend both!

The tour was excellent and enhanced by the fact that we had an outstanding tour guide who clearly loved the Sox and the Park. He shared alot of interesting history and gave us access to pretty much everything in the park with the exception of the press box. He gave us plenty of time to take photos, let us peek into an open suite and even let us sit in the Green Monster seats.

In sum, this tour is an absolute must for any baseball fan and even non-baseball fans will find it interesting. Do the tour even if you have tickets to a game . . . you'll miss alot if you don't. As for the game . . . . well, it's Fenway Park. Don't go to Boston and miss a chance to sit in the stands of such a historical ballfield.

Being Brits, we knew just about nothing about baseball. Following two recommendations before going on holiday, I sourced 4 decent tickets for Red Sox -v- Chigago White Sox on 20th July. The tickets were ridiculously over-priced at about 5 times face value, but it was short notice and the family all wanted to go. The concierge at the Langham advised taking the T, which we did, arrived early and spent an hour in the shop before the game started. We had a good spot with great views of the action and the place was packed. It was a carnival atmosphere with 37000 people all just there having a great time. I got so into the game that I was leaping out of my seat spontaneously with the locals (at all the appropriate moments) - totally spellbound. With Red Sox ahead 10-3 we left at the end of the 8th innings and headed back for the T, along with thousands of others. Again the atmosphere was like one big party. The whole experience was totally convivial.I'd be amazed if the police had to deal with any trouble that evening - so far removed from the nonsense that goes on in the UK at sporting events. If you are in Boston on holiday - whether you are into sports or , like me, not, just get tickets for Fenway Park and enjoy the whole family experience of a Red Sox game. Make sure you practice your Neil Diamond numbers in advance though. A great experience !!

This year I became a baseball fan. I got to visit Fenway Park last week on my trip to Boston. I had a good time on the tour. Security was fast, the guide was good and informative, and we got to see the many views from different seats, including the Green Monster! We did not go on the field which I was disappointed about because I wanted a full tour and made sure we did not go on the tour the last tour of the day (we went at 10am) and on a off day. They had something else going on that day so they were preparing the field, I feel they should have told us that prior buying the tickets, not during the tour. I do not know how much the tickers were since I used my Go Boston Card (which I also recommend!). Even though it was a large group, I could hear the guide clearly and we were able to take pictures of whatever we wanted.
