I loved the location of this 4-star hotel obtained via Priceline last-minute bidding for an April 12, 2012 stay. My bid was $130, taxes and fees added $27.45 to total $157.45—a bargain in Boston.
The room was small, very clean, with a European feel—double silk drapes in muted colors, etc. Its windows opened to a view of diners at the Westin Hotel opposite. The windows had awnings and a tiny balcony too small to use, but a nice extra barrier from the street. The extra-high quality sheets and duvet were just what I love at 4-star hotels, same for the excellent bedside reading lights.
True, there were painters in the hallway outside, the lobby was dark for my taste and I found the wi-fi slow, but the location can’t be beat: A Shaw’s is around the corner, the Prudential center next door and it’s easy walking to any point in Boston. I would stay again in a heartbeat at that price.
