From what I remember, this was a really nice hotel. The beers in Boston flow rather smoothly, so I do not remember much about that night, but checkin was great, room was nice when we got there, and service was good. I book through some sight called skoosh.com or something(was leary at first) at a rate of $210/night, so that worked out well. Nothing bad to say here, you will enjoy it.

“Excellent hotel”

Nine Zero Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

13 Apr 2008

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the Nine Zero in early April. Got a good online deal, which cost us just over £100 per night - so it's worth shopping around for deals on this hotel. We had an excellent, comfortable room - bed was very, very comfortable, excellent bathroom, nice shower, etc.

From the hotel website images we were worried the decor might have been a bit too much - but actually the room felt very comfortable.

The rather patchy wireless coverage (which came and went) was the only significant problem.

Staff were excellent. No snobbery, but still very helpful when needed. Our 7th floor room was a little noisy from the street - ideally would have been better to be higher up, but this wasn't a real problem. Well-stocked minibar. Really great central location - just off Boston Common, and right next to both Government Central and Park St metro stations (and H&M, Borders and Macys just a block away!)

“Very nice but watch out for street noise”

Nine Zero Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff. No snobbery. Also, for a boutique hotel, interior decoration is rather understated rather than artsy-fartsy, which creates a pleasant low-key atmosphere.

Rooms are very functional, and include extremely comfortable bedding and good quality amenities.

However, when you book, if you are sensitive to noise book on an upper floor. Street noise on lower floors is a real problem because the rooms are not sound proofed and there are noisy garbage trucks operating around 3-4 AM some nights. ( Also, neighboring TV can be heard sometimes.) The upper floors also have nice views whereas the lower floors have no view at all. They book you in a lower floor room unless you make this request.

Location is excellent for a walking tour. Paul Revere's grave along with other early patriots is right across the street!

“Beautiful Hotel”

Nine Zero Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

8 Apr 2008

I stayed at Nine Zero for five nights over the Easter long weekend, and it was fantastic.
The room was a King Suite, and a very good size. Very comfortable beds and nice big bathrooms.
Staff were extremely friendly and the concierge very helpful.
Very central and walking distance to all the stores, park and restaurants.
Beacon Hill is great for dining, as is Little Italy. I recommend Figs in Beacon Hill and your choices are endless in Little Italy.
Overall, I would certainly stay at Nine Zero again, and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay at a nice, friendly, hotel in the center of Boston.

“Great Service”

The best thing about Nine Zero is the service. From the bell service to room service to the front desk, every experience was excellent. Also the location is great for a business trip.

The rooms are very clean and stocked with Mario Badescu beauty products (shampoo, etc). Also the robe is a nice touch.

The only thing I didn't care for was the decor. To me, it looked like a tacky, garish modern interpretation of the Art Deco style. The bed cover was black and tan wide stripes...ugh. The chair in the room looked like it belonged in a clowns room, with its ridiculously high back. Way too much laminated black furniture! Also, in the areas outside the elevators there is tacky shimmery bronze lamae curtains covering the walls. This is just not my preference, as I prefer a more understated atmosphere. Others I was traveling with, loved the decor. The bathroom was nice, in all white tile and marble, very different in style from the rest of the room.

I enjoyed the service, but since ambiance is important to me, I will look for a different hotel next time I am in Boston.
