I found encore bed and breakfast on line after specifically looking for unique boutique bed and breakfasts with a modern edge. We drove up from New York City, and stayed one night, as it was all they had available when we booked. (Normally they only allow 2 night minimums I think) The B&B is located in a hip neighborhood (South End) near great shopping and even better restaurants. They have very limited parking, but there is NOTHING on the street if you drove in. We stayed in "The Sondheim". It was a generous size, with sleek furnishings and was naturally decorated around the great writer composer of musical theatre Mr. Sondheim. There was a tv, internet access and a dvd player if you wanted to bring movies. The bathroom was very urban and masculan, (in a good way) with a tiled shower and stainless steel accents. We had a comfortable evening and ate at Masa- a restaurant within walking distance that was amazing. Truly one of the best dining expriences we have had (including NYC). The only downer was the breakfast in the morning. Although Reinhold was charming and had prepared everything for us, the food left alot to be desired. The croissants were not fresh tasting, the cold cuts and cheese were prepackaged types, etc. This is not the highlight of their establishment, just think of it as an added deal. There are amazing restaurants that serve breakfast very close by which I would recommend more. Overall, a nice stay and I would really recommend this over any of the MUCH overpriced hotels in the area.

Encore B & B is nestled in a lovely brownstone neighborhood in Boston's chic South End. Surrounded by great restaurants, one feels like one is living the life of an Edith Wharton character -- wrapped in luxury and timeless elegance, while also appreciating all that is modern and fresh about sophisticated architecture.

The owner of this fine establishment is an architect and you can see his loving hand in all the details -- fine stainless hardward in your bathroom, top of the line italian furnishings, tasteful colors and elegant lighting (just look at the pictures -- it really is flawless).

I am so often overwhelmed by the fussiness of the B&B owner, but Reinhold delivers you an amazing breakfast and tells you all about the area as if you were one of his friends.

Encore has all the benefits of a stay at the Four Seasons (location, design and service) at less than half the price! No wonder they are booked solid most of the year! Good luck getting in :)

I recently traveled to Boston for a conference and stayed at this lovely B&B in the south end of Boston. We stayed in the Albee room on the third floor which was beautiful, complete with patio overlooking the street - making for nice natural light. There is also a cute little alcove which is great for reading, writing postcards, etc. Breakfast is served every morning at the time you request and the food was delightful. Rates were completely reasonably - in fact cheaper than the conference hotel rate. Highly recommended!

First let me start with that I loved the Encore B and B. I went with my boyfriend for our valentine's day weekend, in the middle of the snowstorm. Reinhold was so sweet and accommodating leaving it up to my boyfriend and me if we wanted to come on the day of our weekend or the day after. My boyfriend ended up convincing me to go and I am so happy we did. As soon as we arrived Reinhold was there waiting for us at the door and helped us with our things.

For our first dinner we wanted to go to Masa however Tremont 647 was a five minute walk and much more convenient. Tremont was a great choice, recommended by Reinhold. We were given a complimentary appetizer with a business card called "momos"... They were delicious. The ribs were incredible.

We went to the aquarium and quincy market. The T is very easy to get around but Boston is walking city. It is the best way to take in the city. Saturday night we ate at Masa which was incredible. The ahi tuna steak was delicious and so was there duck. They made a delicious appetizer that was steak quesedilla.

Both restaurants are on Encore's website and a walk from Encore on the same street. Masa was about a 15 minute walk but its a great city.

Encore was very contemporary and had everything that a hotel would have but was just more personal. The rooms were tidied up for you during the day similar to a hotel. Each night you were given a menu for breakfast asking what time you wanted it and what was to be prepared. The yogurt and granola was delicious and so were the muffins. I got that both mornings.

I plan on staying there again. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this place. Perfect for couples!
