Excellent location and within easy walking distance to Little Italy and the train station. This is not a city to drive around in so have a great location makes a difference! Parking is expensive everywhere and if you get here early enough, you can park here for a discounted rate! I would advise having breakfast at a nearby restaurant.

Stayed three nights at the BYH in June. The location is perfect. A five minute walk to Little Italy (one of my favorite places on the planet) and a great view of the skyline and harbor from the penthouse suite. The bed was very comfortable and more than large enough for my wife and I. The view was just incredible.

It was worth staying again just for those reasons, the location and the nice room. However, everything else was just about average or below. $75 for parking at the next wharf when the parking spots out front just sat there open the whole time (not a recipe for repeat business). Breakfast consisting of a few juices and muffins (not what I'd call a bed and breakfast). The people were nice enough.

If you want a wonderful view in a fantastic location within minimal personal interaction from your hosts and don't mind going elsewhere for breakfast and paying an arm and a leg for parking, this is your place.

Location - very good - 5 minutes to the end of the wharf then another 5 mins to Italian district, Fanueil Hall, T station, etc.
Rooms - huge, excellent, very well equipped, clean and tidy - lovely views!
Staff - helpful and friendly
Local attractions - its Boston, need I say more - OK our favourites where Freedom Trail esp. Fanueil Hall and Old Ironsides, Prudential Centre, Italian District, etc.
Restaurants - Italian - can't remember the name but make sure you investigate the back streets away from the main drag of Hannover street, Joes American Diner at the end of commercial wharf - tried it one night and kept going back - good wholesome American fare.

See other places we stayed - Afton Inn, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire - The Timberholm Inn, Stowe, Vermont - The Kingsleigh Inn, Southwest Harbour, Maine - The Martin Hill Inn, Portsmouth, New Hampshire - By the Sea B&B, Plymouth, Massachusetts - The Boston Yacht Haven, Boston, Massachusetts

Stayed here with my wife for two nights in October. The prior reviews were quite accurate - great location (5 minute walk to the North End and Fanueil Marketplace) and great views of the active harbor and the cityscape (we stayed in the penthouse which had a private deck on three sides of the building). The penthouse unit was not large but was adequate (and again, the decks were great). A very simple continental breakfast was available (coffee, juice, fruit and muffins). While not inexpensive, was a very good value. Only disappointment was that when we made reservations we were told we could park there for $20 but when we got there was told they only have 6 spots (which were all taken), and we had to park at the next wharf (only 3 minute walk though).

Just got back from a two day stay at Boston Yacht Haven. Stayed in the Penthouse room. For the money I think this may be the best small inn/hotel bargain in Boston. Located right on the water, it is a marina after all, at the end of Commercial Wharf. With decks on three sides you have a panoramic view of the city and the bay.

The only issue I had was the penthouse does not have a king size bed. There is plenty of room for one. Also the continental breakfast was a little weak. But there is a Starbucks about a block away.

Located about three blocks from Hanover St., where all the great north end Italian restaurants are located, its a quick walk. We were able to park at the marina and walked to most of the major areas of town.

Don't stay here if you require a "hotel" experience with "hotel" type services. Stay here if you want peace and quite and like being on the water.
