Aisling is like staying at home, due to the personal service and feel of the house. I travel a lot for work and leisure, so I am not often impressed by my accommodations. I decided to try a bed an breakfast since I was interested in staying in a real neighborhood and figured that the owners would be able to point out what to see and where to eat better than a concierge.
I was surprised by the level of personal service. I had a red eye flight from Seattle that arrived early in the morning. Dympna (one of the hosts) picked me up from the airport and made sure I had something to eat before I went on to my business for the day.
That evening I spoke to James (the other host) and Dympna looking for advice on where to host a business dinner. We ended up talking for over an hour, discussing restaurants and travel in general. They took a real interest in the conversation and I felt like I was speaking to long time friends. This is a huge contrast to the sterile desk attendants at most hotels. I would have conversed longer, but I had to get going to dinner.
The restaurant that they had recommended was not only outstanding, but it was walking distance from the bed and breakfast. The business dinner was successful and I was commended for the choice of restaurant.
The next day I had to do some work from my room. The wireless network had connectivity throughout the house. Since the weather was nice, I decided to work on their roof top deck, which offers an excellent view of Boston. The house, neighborhood, and most importantly, the hosts, made me relax and feel at home.
The next time I have business in Boston, I am staying with Dympna and James at the Aisling Bed and Breakfast.
