I was not impressed by this Doubletree. I usually stay at Marriott, Hyatt, or Westin so I might be judging it unfairly but I felt the room needed some renovation and the air conditioning unit was very loud. I was staying there for a meeting nearby, so perhaps if I liked golf I would have appreciated the resort more. In the future I'll be choosing a different hotel that has nicer rooms and amenities.

Very nice environment to stay in. Staff excellent, on-site facilities great, nice sized room and very clean. Warm cookie on arrival. Would be a great place for business conference. Our original plan was to find a new place to stay for our final night in San Diego, but we stayed at the golf course an extra night instead

I won this 3* hotel through Priceline for a rate of $62/night. I stayed one night in March 2008. This hotel is located off of I-15 in Rancho Bernardo. We have no problem finding the hotel and check-in was easy and fast. We were assigned a room in bldg 16. It is a little bit of a walk from the parking lot, but it wasn't too bad. We had a room on the second floor. It was big and spacious with a king bed. There were three sinks in the room. One inside the bathroom along with the toilet and bathtub. Another is outside of the bathroom. There is a sink in the bedroom area as well with plenty of counterspace along with a coffee machine.

The hotel is about a 20-30 minute drive from the airport and about a 20 minute drive to the Wild Animal Park. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, especially at the great price I got through Priceline.

The hotel grounds, including the golf course and outdoor pool area are spacious, clean, and beautiful; many rooms have small balconies that overlook. We chose this hotel for the golfing convenience, the course was nice. While visiting SanDiego and staying in a different hotel we also visited the Zoo, SeaWorld, and local vineyards. This hotel is pretty close to the Wild Animal Park and a few vineyards (which offer tours and wine tasting's), and it worked out nice to switch to this hotel toward the end of our week in SanDiego, to be closer to these. The rooms were clean and beds were extremely comfortable, a nice bonus was the two vanities and sinks. The pool and hot tub were relaxing and warm, which was much appreciated during this unusally cold, frosty & snowy February day in SanDiego. The front desk staff and other hotel staff were friendly, not high on the knowlegeable/helpful factor...but nice. Since it was so cold we were looking for indoor alternate options for fun, and hotel staff seriously had no concept of how to help. Luckily for us, it warmed up the next day. This hotel is pretty much off the beaten path, there is a restaurant onsite and room service, but for alternate options plan to drive for restaurants and entertainment. Overall it's a very nice place to stay for a few nights, and even better when you get a good rate.
