My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The US Grant.
I HIGHLY recommend spending at least one night in this magnificent historic landmark.
We were greeted upon arrival by a valet attendant, a bellman and a very nice lady--a manager possibly. They immediately removed items from my hands (i.e. water bottles, papers) that I intended to discard. Our check-in was expedient and pleasant. Every staff member at the US Grant was pleasant. We've stayed in a lot of nice hotels where customer service was non-existent. That is NOT the case here. All staff members went above and beyond for us.
We booked our stay directly through the hotel. The gentleman assisting us with our reservation was VERY pleasant and helpful. We were given a corner room with huge windows and GREAT views. The Rock and Roll Marathon was going on and we enjoyed waking up to watching the runners partake in this grueling event.
The entryway had a nice sized closet and bar area with a beautiful painting and hardwood floors. Cozy overhead lighting.
The living area had elegantly modern yet comfortable high-back chairs and a VERY comfy King bed with a beautiful rug below. The painting above the bed was consistent with the modern theme--BEAUTIFUL. There were adjustable overhead lights above the bed that made the atmosphere feel like we were right at home.
In case you must work, there was a stunning dark wood desk with convenient plug ins.
The bathroom was very extravagant. Travertine floors and shower. Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Two very comfortable robes and oversized towels.
The location was PERFECT. It's in walking distance to sooooooooooo much. Horton Plaza is right across the street.
The bar right across the street has hundreds of beers on tap and a great selection of food--for a quick bite.
When in San Diego, we will be staying at The US Grant and recommending it to friends and family. It was truly a weekend to remember.
