Fine facilities with competent, friendly staff (unlike the Holiday Inn), clean rooms with fridge and coffee maker, good gift shop. And the best restaurant in town.

All three hotels in Chinle cost too much.

We booked here only because there wasn’t much choices for motel/hotel in this area and the reviews weren’t very good. So when we arrived here we were pleased to see the motel was sure pretty much better than expected. The front desk girl was very polite and friendly. Our room was big and very clean .. also the bathroom was clean but very small. The bedroom had coffeemaker and a small fridge so we were happy to put our sodas in it.
We went to dinner to Burger King because the hotel's restaurant was crowded and we didn't want to wait.
There are 2 computers with printer and free internet in the lobby .. and there is also a small shop.

The exterior is old-style, but all the interiors have been recently updated. We received a friendly greeting in the small but nicely appointed lobby/reception area. The upholstered furniture and granite-topped reception desk looked new. A small gift shop adjoined the lobby.
Our room was completely refurbished with new furniture, carpeting, and lighting. The bathroom had new tile, fixtures, lighting, and granite-topped vanity and grantie tub-surround. Along with the fresh appearance, the room was clean. The bed was OK.
Although the room was only a few rooms back from the highway and on the first floor, it was quiet.
The on-or-off-only AC/heater was annoying, but the weather was moderate, so we didn't have to run it much.
We didn't use the indoor pool, but we checked it out and it looked clean. The spa was a separate hot tub set up in the corner of the room. The picnic area didn't have any tables, unlike those pictured. Maybe they put them out in warmer weather.
With our AAA discount, the about $100/night rate for a king bed seemed reasonable for an area where there is very little competition. Our only request for some extra service was promptly attended to.

Pluses: decent sized room, clean, pretty quiet. They give you an old wash cloth for wiping of dusty shoes and such, which I thought was a nice touch. Our room came with a mini-fridge and microwave.

Minuses: worst pillows EVER. I thought the sheets were pretty itchy too, but it could haven been my sunburn. no elevator. Possibly the world's slowest internet (but it was free, so). yellow-ish water in the sink and toilet is sketch.

The Junction restaurant pluses: even locals eat there, pretty good food--even sells Pizza Hut pizza! Minuses: world's slowest service.

Of course, like others have said, you only have 3 choices in Chinle, and they know it, so the BW can charge you $130 for a room you otherwise wouldn't pay more than $75 for. But I'd be willing to bet that although the HI and Thunderbird are also not good values, they're better hotels than the BW.

The room was acceptable, but barely so. We travel for a living and our company had booked us for 4 months. We had a room with 2 full beds and were charged for queens, and were told we could rent a microwave for ten dollars a day. The staff was rude and uncooperative. Moved to the Best Western in St Michaels, nice staff, nice rooms, much better value.
