I have been to NYC many times, but this visit was special--my two sisters and I wanted to do something out-of-the ordinary to celebrate my sister's birthday. We decided (based on the rave reviews on Trip Advisor) to book the tour called "Brooklyn Bridge and Beyond" with Bike the Big Apple. We were a bit concerned in that we're all three in our 50's and we rarely bike, however it sounded too good to pass up. This tour exceeded our expectations, as did our wonderful guide, Jesse and sweeper, Cecilia! The tour was leisurely-paced with a number of stops along the way. Jesse is not only passionate about biking, but he also shares throughout the day historicals facts about the Brooklyn area and NYC history. While it may sound a little crazy to ride a bike through city streets and across bridges, at no time did we feel threatened--it was simply wonderful and I look forward to arranging another bike tour next time I'm in the city. When we finished the tour, we were surprised that we still had enough energy to take the subway to High Line park, which is a NYC-treasure, and then again took the subway back to 17th street where we had a great dinner at the restaurant, Friend of the Farmer---all in all, this was the perfect day!! Thanks Jesse and Cecilia!
