wonderful lounge, breakfast, evening cocktails, great people, great accomodations, great location. Only superlatives apply. And it is part of the Hilton hotel system. You definately cannot go wrong here.

Room tip: 1 BR if more room desired, but studio is fine for a couple.

This Hilton Vacation Club is located on the 37 and 38 floors of the Hilton on 6th Ave near 53rd, a prime Manhattan location. The location alone made it worth the stay, but there are several things that could be improved upon. First, the check in. There is a Grand Vacation Club kiosk on the main lobby floor, but that's sales related. There is a non descript check in location on 37 inside the members lounge. Second, the rooms. We were given what seemed to us to be a standard hotel room. In fact, it was less than standard, as it had no coffee maker and no mini fridge. I expected there to be a fridge, I brought wine and cheeses and olives for a romantic evening, but had to suffice with filling the ice bucket and a plastic bag. I knew that these did not have full kitchens like other Grand Vacation Clubs, but thought they had at least those two things. Yes, there is a continental breakfast in the members lounge every morning with free coffee and some basics, but sometimes its nice to make a pot in the room to enjoy while reading the paper or watching the news without having to shower and get dressed and go down to a communal area. The evening reception was nice with complimentary wine and beer and appetizers. The club must have been booked to capacity because it was standing room only in there most evenings (and the thermostat was set to 78 degrees!). Getting back to the room, the beds were very comfortable and the linens nice, but the only place to sit was the bed or 3 desk type chairs. It was a GREAT set up for business travel. We have noticed in our travels that many Hilton properties are getting away from the heavily perfumed toiletry products. This property uses a very heavily perfumed line of products, so if you have sensitivities or allergies, be advised and bring your own. I think it is necessary for me to point out that we came here due to a really good deal for current vacation club members as part of a sales promotion. We did not upgrade our membership at this time, because what we have currently works well for us. We really enjoy our membership and the properties that we have visited as a result of it. At no time did we feel any pressure to make an additional purchase. The sales and marketing staff was great, very professional, and we did get some nice perks for giving them a short amount of our time. If we had been looking to add to our vacation club membership, we would not choose this property. We are also Diamond members with many thousands of points to use and the city has many other Hilton Properties to chose from where we could spend those. We will save our vacation club points for the condominium style properties we are accustomed to.

Room tip: I understand there are some larger rooms....go for one of those if you can.

I booked a deluxe room six months prior to visiting NYC for my daughters 16th birthday. There is nothing I abhor more than showing up to a reserved room and having problems. So call me overzealous, I called a week ahead to confirm my reservation and I called the day before to let them know I was coming in late. They assured me that they would hold my room and everything would be fine. And then, when I arrived at 1am in the morning I was told my room wasn't ready - really? They offered me not an upgrade - oh no - they offered me a downgrade. They said the hotel was full and that's the only room they had (which i find hard to believe because there were many people waiting to check in behind me so they could have stuck them in the maid's chambers) After traveling by air, then train, then taxi - to get there - this is not what I expected. They made no offer to accommodate me and I had a bit of problem with that. After some conversation and pushback by me, they offered me 15,000 Hilton points - come on? We finally agreed to $70 credit. But it wasn't really worth it. I couldn't unpack, we had to leave our bags at check the next day, wait in lines, and get reinstalled in a new room. It was a real inconvenience to my 3 day trip experience. I expect more from Hilton and I expect more from any hotel room that costs $300 a night. The service was ridiculous and the fact that they expected me to be "happy" with all of this is why after all my preparedness planning I'm giving them a bad review. There are plenty of hotels in NYC. I would not stay at this one again due to poor customer service and handling.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We deeply apologize for the frustration caused to you and your family. The satisfaction of our guests is the focal point of what we do. It appears , in this case we missed the mark. I see that you stayed at the Hilton New York Midtown, and I will see that they receive this information you sent to us at The Hilton Club New York. We understand there are many hotel choices in New York City and we thank you for having chosen a Hilton property, and we sincerely hope to serve you better in the future.

Spend 5 nights here, in a one bed room suite. Bath room included a large bathtub and a separate shower. Very clean hotel. Very helpful staff. Walk to nearby Times Square, Broadway Plays, and Central Park. Great location, and a great hotel.

We recently became Hilton Club members and this was our first stay at the Club, and it was great. We have stayed at the Hilton Midtown before, but the Club was like an oasis inside of the bigger hotel. We've been traveling to New York regularly for the past 15 years and stayed at many hotels, and in comparison the room was big and the location is great for the theatre district.

The staff made our stay enjoyable and the checkin/out process was very easy. The breakfast and happy hour were both good to have and it was conveniently located. The lobby on the main floor can seem busy and chaotic, but the 37th & 38th floors takes you away from all of that. Enjoyed it and will stay again.

Room tip: Some rooms on the north side have a partial view of Central Park.
