I recently attended the nuts and bolts session followed by an evening photo safari in Times Square. The reason for attending was to learn how to take great portraits in low light situations.
This was my second experience with NYC Photo Safari. Zim taught on both occasions. My expectations were exceeded both times. Zim is super knowledgeable, experienced and creative. She readily shares her experiences and makes a very good effort to understand what each participant wants to learn. She expertly tees up a topic, explains the relevant mechanics of the camera for a given shot, and directs participants to take plenty of pictures. Zim provides offers plenty of personalized feedback about improving the quality and creativity of images.
My advice to anyone considering a photo safari is to just do it...don't worry about what type of camera you have...don't worry about impressing anyone...just be honest about what you want to learn and try experimenting...with an expert at your side. I promise you'll make better photos after just on class.

Thanks for taking the time to write a such a detailed review. We always take it as a good sign when someone signs up for a second and third Photo Safari after their first experience. And thank you for the feed back on the instructor, that helps us a lot too. Please contact us via email or on facebook if you have any photography questions, we're here to help!
