Location was OK since it was near Penn Station and subway stations. Lobby was taken over by a bar with standup room only to talk to concierge. I checked in during the evening and was met by a grumpy night manager who refused to honor a complimentary gift of two free nights. We were delayed a half hour checking in because of her sarcastic attitude. The room had no hair dryer and no information sheet explaining breakfast hours etc. A small refrigerator was nice to have, however, it was placed directly on the floor so that it was difficult to use. I discovered that the outlet I was using to charge my ipad and camera didn't work so that I lost a days use of both. Not a good value for the price with ended up being $1749.00 for 4 nights!

Interesting place. Not a great welcome from the street. The area is a "bit" sketchy, but not unsafe. One or two blocks from Madison Square Garden. Price was good, but, the room was odd. Window opened/viewed a wall--first floor (I never stayed in a room on the first floor before.) Had workout equipement in it, so they billed it as the "Fitness Suite". Skylight...again, odd. Lobby was fine, with a bar and friendly bartender. Good internet in lobby.

Room tip: Don't get the Fitness room. Stupid. No view, cracked skylight, first floor. We did not want it and they gave it to us anyway. Very cramped.

Can't say enough about this hotel. 5 of us arrived Thursday a little earlier than check in and were greeted by a very friendly staff and were quickly checked in. Our room #507 was perfect....spacious, clean and modern. Close to everything...missing New York already. Thank You TRYP!!

This was the perfect hotel in NY for our family of 5. It was conveniently located next to a subway stop, and it was at walking distance from some of our main attractions (empire state, times square, we also walked to MOMA). The room was nice and clean, with two queen beds, two twins (murphy beds) and a sofa bed, and a writing desk, and a lot of closets for clothes. It also had a refrigerator, and a coffee machine. Everything looked new, the bathroom had a nice design and plenty of towels and a hairdryer. If we go back to NY, we will definitely come back to stay here. It is so nice to find hotels with family rooms!

Room tip: I think some reviews mentioned two bathrooms for a family room. It is possible that there are some, ours (708) did not.

This hotel is close to Penn Station, very convenient for out-of-towners who have family outside Manhattan. We stayed here for one night, it was the cheapest out of all the hotels we were looking at. We got a room with two queen beds, very spacious. Everything is modern, shower is awesome with soap dispensers already mounted in the shower. I was really impressed with how spacious the room was considering that is very hard to get in Manhattan. I would suggest to ask for a higher floor to get some sort of view. I would definitely come back here again.
