I have been a platinum elite for almost 10 years and I travel almost 180-200 nights a year and this last 1+ year I have stayed at this hotel. I think Marriott Corporate should feature this hotel as one of the best. What makes this hotel is its people, all of us who are frequent travelers stay in the same hotel because of convenience and good hospitality.

This hotel is off the chart in hospitality, starting from Mark (GM) who is a great leader and cares about his guest. The same values that he posses are passed down to every single staff member. I just simply feel I am walking to my own home the moment i walk in.

I have checked in at midnight and i am greeted by David and Darrel (might mispronounced his name, sorry) with a smile and warm welcome. I checked in at 8:00 am and Isa, Jaquline and now new addition Tiffany welcome you with a great smile. Caren and Michael you guys are best and doing awesome with your staff, we just need more like them :-).

Tyrone/Darren are always there to take care of you for whatever you need and make sure you don't feel lost. They are like resident Concierge and they know how to make sure you have fun. The staff on the breakfast side is always happy to serve you a good meal. I think I have stayed pretty much on every floor here now and housekeeping girls are happy doing what they do and never they have not wished you good morning when you leave and they see you.

Hotel Engineer team is always ready to make sure your stay is pleasant (Remember this name Ardi, he will get it done).

Now, we go to the roof top, the view is amazing and now my favorite hangout joint (corner seat) is GEM bar, Katherine you had a vision and i think the Bar has become quiet awesome (your hard work paid off). They have great personalities behind the bar (Gigi (we love you, need you behind Front Desk with that smile), Kareem & Gabriel (You guys are very good in what you do), Francisco (keep up that charm with your blackshirt and bow-tie). Fun times and never a dull night.

In the end, I cannot forget John (Security), he is the one who keeps everyone safe and make sure all the drunks get back to their rooms. I have met so many amazing people here (frequent guests) , love it. I know i am never ever staying anywhere when i am in NYC.

I will be back there next week and can't wait...

We stayed one night in August. The hotel location is very good. You can walk to Time Square, and other attractions. If you do not like to walk, taxi is cheap and convenient. We got a free upgrade to a king suite. The room feels new, very clean, very spacious, and has a great view. The beds are very comfortable. The free continental breakfast is pretty good. For the price we pay, can't ask for better.

Visited NYC in Sept 2013. We stayed at Fairfield. All I could asked for in a hotel, clean room .. clean bathroom! (essential) and near the subway. free breakfast! Lack of pool.. but other than that it's great.

Very good hotel at a good location. No complaints about any feature or convenience. It is clean and comfortable. Quick check in and checkout (elevators are overwhelmed at checkout time) Breakfast is pretty good. Location is very good (for a train ride).
So why not excellent? It is pricey (not unexpected in Manhattan) and does not have much of a personality (no unique ambience, except the great rooftop bar)

We stayed here with our 1 year old daughter at the beginning of August. The location of the hotel is fantastic but unfortunately there were a few aspects of the hotel which didn't quite live up to expectations. The rooms are very small and whilst we were allocated a room with a "city view" on a high floor, the view was not that great and not worth the long wait for the lift we had each day. The first room we were allocated didn't have a bath tub which I needed to bathe my baby daughter in. When I asked if we could be moved, I was told the hotel was fully booked and to try again tomorrow... Fair enough. The next day I asked if we could be moved and we were told it was possible, so spent half an hour packing our stuff only to get a phone call to say unfortunately there wasn't a room available and we couldn't be moved. When exactly the same thing happened the following day, I asked to speak to the manager. I was put on hold for about 10 mins and then magically, a room is available again and we can be moved... Was it just that the front desk staff couldn't be bothered initially?! Incidentally, I have since raised this with Marriott and we have been offered an upgrade next time we stay with them but I still find the way the staff dealt with this issue disappointing. Breakfast gets busy very quickly with a shortage of tables, so get there early. An enjoyable stay but wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend given the numerous accommodation options in Manhattan
