Pylos...what can I say?... this was quite the experience.
My family and I went here on July 4th- 2012, and we started off with a beautiful table. Close to the street, where the whole side of the restaurant was open, which was lovely because it was a beautiful day. Our server was very friendly (and, Greek), so we asked him about the specialty Greek wines, and beers, and so forth. We started off with some wines, and beers, and the greek salad, which was all delicious... (a greek salad for the app is def a must! the best tomatoes my family and I ever ate).
-ALL PORTIONS ARE NICELY SIZED/NICELY PRIZED- ESPECIALLY FOR NYC
-I had the pistachio-crusted wild sea bass- very delicious, however, I would def want to try something different next time
-My husband had the moussaka- he loved it...absolutely loved it
-My mother-in-law ate the Lamb Shank- wow- everyone liked that
-Father-in-law had the pistachio which he loved
We ordered the creme filled dough over au natural honey, which we all really enjoyed, too and then hit the BIG GAY ICE CREAM, which was "okay", however, we would rather just eat desert here at PYLOS!
The reason why Pylos got 4 stars and not 5 was when I called a few days before the hostess was all confused about if they were open for July 4th and, told me to call back. I called again and she was still confused. It turned me off a little, but when we went to the restaurant it happened to ne a wonderful experience.
