Food was quite good, nice atmosphere (though a little loud), service acceptable if not outstanding, but the whole experience was rather spoiled when we spotted the service charge on our bill. There had been no warning on the menu that a service fee was automatically added to bills (there were only two of us!) but a quick conversation with our waiter revealed that this fee was, indeed, a tip added to the bill. We had already added a generous tip to the credit card bill, which included a blank space to add a tip, and the whole thing felt like a sneaky attempt to get extra payment by not warning patrons that a tip was included in the final bill.
So: a decent option if Carmine's is booked up, but watch your bill for added charges!
