Outstanding view from riverfront room, maritime activity and everchanging weather panorama kept us glued to the window. Our room was immaculate and comfortably appointed, staff was friendly and informative about Astoria attractions and activities. The hotel lobby was welcoming and included local restaurant menus and lists of the daily shipping arrivals and departures along with binoculars for closer observation. Bicylces were available (free) for use on the riverwalk just outside the door. The morning breakfast was delicious and offered lots of choices for every appetite. Overall a most pleasant experience at a very reasonable price. We cannot wait to return.

We stayed here three days and had a great time. The room was huge , had a gas fireplace, and it overlooks the Columbia River. A big picture window faces the Columbia River and the Astoria Bridge. It was fun to watch the HUGE freighters float by up the Columbia or out to the Pacific Ocean. Also the trolly would stop right outside the Holiday Inn door.

Staff was very friendly and helpful with information about Astoria and also gave us some ideas on what to do and see on our drive back to SeaTac.

My grandfather lives in Astoria and we went last September. I am looking to go again this year and remembered how great this hotel is. We stayed in the ""West Suite, " which was a King bed, dresser, and TV when you first enter. Then there was a hall way with a well equipped (microwave, fridge, glasses, etc.) wet bar on the right and the bathroom on the left. After that, there was a queen bed, sleeper sofa, desk, second TV, fireplace, and window with a great view. There weren't two separate rooms, but my daughter and I had a private area away from my parents and we didn't all have to go to sleep at the same time. The room was large, clean, comfortable, and well furnished with lots of nice ameneties. The breakfast was good, the lobby was nice, and the outside area by the bridge was gorgeous. The pool was about average. Service was good. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Decent pool, good breakfast, big room, nice view of river, nice shower, okay bed.
