This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at in our 9 day road trip around the the northwest. We we ended up staying here 2 nights instead of 1 because we liked it so much. Astoria is a neat little town with some interesting history. Take in the Maritime Museum just up the rail line which stops right at the back of the hotel. The hotel itself had the friendliest staff possible, The room we had was a king suite which had a separate living area with a fireplace and a view of the river and bridge. The breakfast included was above average for sure. My only minor complaint and a word of caution is to make sure your room is not directly above the indoor pool as the noise echoed into the bedroom until 11 at night, so if you plan on sleeping before then then make sure you are not above the pool. We tried the restaurant that shares the parking lot with this hotel and found it to be very good, almost fine dining but reasonably priced. This is a must stay in Astoria!
