I booked a room for August 3rd and 4th. Unfortunately our family's plan changed and I had to cancel. I called two weeks before our scheduled arrival and canceled.
When I received my AMEX bill there was a charge for one night. I challenged the charge.
Holiday Inn said I was a no show for the second night. I explained to them that I had canceled and they said that that was not the case.
I asked them how did they cancel on the 3rd but not on the 4th. Their answer was that they do their paperwork on the 4th. I don't know what that means.
Long and short of it, I was charged for a room that I was not in and for a room that was cancelled.
I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND the Canary Warf. It is virtually next door. It was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. It costs more but the service and ambiance are well worth it. Check it out before booking the Holiday Inn and if you can stretch your budget a bit, take it. You will NOT regret it.
