“Loved it”

I loved the room, the fire place, the view of the water, and the beautiful tub in the bathroom.

I also loved the free bikes available for guests. The bike trail along the waterfront is wonderful and goes right by the place where all of the sea lions hang out.

It was very nice as well to have a laundry room in the hotel since I had done a lot of hiking. And if you bring a computer, there is free wifi.

Great hotel. I'd definitely stay again.

The Cannery is everything the website says, and more. The little town of Astoria was a treat but you almost don't want to leave your room because it is so lovely and the view is "The Best". The staff is efficient and friendly and the 1939 Buick (soon to be a 1946 Cadillac) ride to restaurants is an extra pleasure. The staff will print out the schedule for the ships going by and sitting on your balcony you feel like you can touch them. Wine & Smoked salmon for cocktail hour, 3 kinds of cookies in the evning, and a very nice breakfast are wonderful extras. The room is large and very confortable with a window seat, wetbar, fireplace and king bed. The shutters open from the bathroom so you can view the ships or water from the tub or shower. The Baked Alaska was a wonderful restaurant with a great view. Gunerson's Cannery Cafe was fun and Clemente's was good food but no view. The hotel is expensive but you get your money's worth.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights between a visit to Portland and back to Seattle. We LOVED the Cannery Pier Hotel! From the beautiful, original decor to the comfortable bed to the absolute most helpful staff, this is one of my favorite hotels in the country.

David on the night shift was so extrlemely helpful and friendly and was our chauffeur to dinner on our second night. He also helped us with breakfast recommendations for the following morning.

We enjoyed the whirlpool, the water view everywhere we looked, and the lovely bathroom with a claw foot tub that has a window to the water. The toiletries are Crabtree & Evelyn - a special treat! There are classic beach cruiser bicycles available for guest use and the hotel is located right between 2 trolley stops.

The only thing wierd was the brick colored painted walls and ceiling in the water closet - i found it to be a little creepy.

I took my husband to the Cannery Pier Hotel this Saturday for his birthday. We had a blast. As others have said, it is situated out on a pier very close to the Astoria bridge and near the shipping channel. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with many nice touches such as the free bikes, free chauffeur service around town in the vintage Buick, and a wine & munchies "happy hour" every day. The main reason to go however, in my opinion, is for the view of the river. We had a HUGE container ship go right past the window in the late afternoon & also a tug pushing a barge, but there are also lots of other boats to watch even if you don't get lucky enough to catch any of the big commercial vessels. We also saw lots of birds & had a big sea lion swim right under the balcony. I doubt we'll be back any time soon only because it is very spendy and way above our usual budget, but I would definitely like to return some day for a special occasion again. About the only thing remotely negative that I would say is that a number of details on their website turned out to be incorrect such as it being dog friendly and binoculars being provided in the rooms. Nothing that bothered us, but I would suggest that you double check when you make your reservations about any details that you consider important.

“Cannery Pier is an experience!”

Cannery Pier Hotel

My husband and I stayed a night early in August. Cannery Pier Hotel not only lived up to the view pictured on the internet, but it was even better. The water and bridge were right outside our balcony. The bathtub was really nice with a choice of the view or privacy shutters if you wished. Everything seemed sparkly and new.

The staff was pleasant and very attentive. Parking was good as well, but that may have been because we were in early for the night.

The room was pricey (nearly $300 with taxes etc.), but we would definitely do it again though I must say our budget would only allow for a single night. We will remember our stay for a long time.
