This is a great Inn. The rooms are huge and comfortable. The mini bars have all sorts of goodies to enjoy with your free bottle of wine they offer you on check in.

I loved the location because it was so quiet but within a short walking distance of pubs and restaurants at Fell's Point. I live and work in NYC and had a very difficult time leaving this inn.

We also loved this hotel. I think everyone has done a pretty good job of talking about the great points of this Inn - beautifully renovated rooms, great continental breakfast, choice of wine on check-in, and courteous staff.

I'll just throw in a few things I haven't seen talked about much.

We stayed in room 139. We paid for run of the house, so that's what we got. It was the first room by the reception, and we could see a bit of the marina, but we also saw a lot of people pass by. It was not loud, but it was slightly distracting. As stated by others, we also had our shutters closed 99% of the time.

The room has an Ipod dock, which was nice. It also had a nice sitting area, and was quite large in general. The TV is DISH network satellite, so there are a ton of channels, including just about every movie channel under the sun (they start at channel 300). The description online says a "queen bed" but we most certainly had a king. It was comfortable to lounge in, but a bit soft for us, and by morning my husband had a sore back. Just made us get up a bit earlier and enjoy more of the day!

The bathroom was very pretty. Not huge, but nice fixtures on the sink and fresh flowers. I wouldn't say this is a complaint, but it struck me as odd that they had done such a nice job of updating the bathroom, but didn't put in a better shower head. Pressure was okay, but I think a better shower head would have really upped the experience. Minor quip, I know.

The area surrounding the hotel is full of bars. Some restaurants, but mostly taverns. There were some incredibly drunk people by 6 pm on Saturday wobbling through the area less than two blocks away. It wasn't a problem for us, but may be of some issue to someone else. There are also NO services within a 5-6 block range, so no running out to get a beverage or a razor if you forgot one without a pretty significant hike. In fact, when I asked the front desk where the closest "convenience store" was, she just kind of gave me a blank stare. FYI - there is a liquor store at the Broadway Market. There is also a 7-11 on Lombard street, but that's about a mile away.

Taxi ride to Inner Harbor is between $6-$7 plus tip. Water taxi is $18 per day, unlimited, but it's not particularly fast.

All in all, it really is a beautiful hotel. I would definitely stay here again. I'd just make sure to pick up my beer before checking in!

“Fabulous hotel!”

Henderson's Wharf Inn occupies the first floor of an old tobacco warehouse right on the harbor. It was rebuilt in 2003 after Hurricane Isabella flooded it. The furnishings are beautiful: extremely tasteful and so comfortable. We had a King Harborside room with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the wooden wharf and the boats in the harbor. There were shutters that closed for privacy.

The staff was attentive, the continental breakfast was definitely not your normal, predictable food - it was delicious, the setting was beautiful, and it was a short walk up a brick (stone?) street to many bars, shops, and restaurants.

I especially enjoyed this hotel because I'm not fond of the closed-in feeling I get in highrise hotels, no matter how lovely they may be. It was so delightful to just walk out the door at the end of the corridor and be on the wharf with the breeze (rain, wind, sun- had them all) and water and boats. It was really interesting to see an enormous storm blow through one afternoon also.

We had rented a car and especially appreciated the free parking in the lot that was just steps away. My son lives in Baltimore and the staff even gave him a pass so he could use the parking lot, as opposed to trying to find on-street parking, when he came over pick us up and to have dinner with us one evening. That was remarkable.

I've stayed in fine hotels around the world, and this is one of my favorites. I certainly will stay here again when I return to Baltimore.

“What a treat!”

We were really looking forward to a great experience at Henderson's Wharf, after having such a poor experience in a Georgetown hotel earlier in the week - and we were not disappointed. In fact, we were thrilled with the entire experience - from the garden-view room with it's lovely furnishings, to the super location, to the warm, friendly, and capable advice from the front desk, to the complimentary bottle of wine (not just any bottle of wine, but our choice - and it was a delicious Beaujolais Villages), to the free wifi, to the abundant, fresh, and delicious breakfast....and I could go on!
We were so impressed with the lack of nickel-and-diming that we have experienced elsewhere. Not only was the price outstanding for the room and location, but there were no extra charges for anything - even the parking was included.
We were very impressed and look forward to our next stay.

We wanted to get out of DC for a couple of days over a holiday weekend in January. We chose Baltimore because I've been wanting to go to the aquarium on the Inner Harbor. Henderson's Wharf Inn was offering a great weekend price, & it had gotten such rave reviews on tripadvisor that I figured it would be perfect.

It did not disappoint. Everything was great. We arrived very early & since our room wasn't ready, the front desk staff checked our bags so that we could grab some lunch nearby & walk around for a bit. We told them that we knew we were very early & that they didn't need to rush to get our room ready. When we returned from lunch, we planned to sit in the common area & read, but they had our room ready early.

The complimentary bottle of wine was very nice. The mini bar was very well stocked & prices were actually very reasonable (compared to normal minibar prices.) The breakfast options were great & everything seemed very fresh. There was fresh coffee & tea available all day everyday. The front desk staff were extremely helpful & friendly.

We upgraded to a harbor view room, even though the harbor isn't particularly picturesque. It was still worth the extra $20, since we could open up our shutters & look out at the water. If you're on the street side, you'll have people walking right by your windows if you open your shutters. We never once heard any noise from the rooms on either side of us or from the hall.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. After staying here I definitely understand why it consistently gets voted as one of the Best Hidden Gems on tripadvisor.
