We spent five days there under a Johns Hopkins package. I've stayed many places, from value motels to four diamond properties, and this is one of the best trained group of personnel I've encountered. They could not have been more friendly or helpful, from shuttle driver, to front desk, to valet parking, to general help. It's easy to overlook a shortcoming or two when everyone is working so hard to make your stay a good one.
The location is superb, right on a great waterfront with numerous really good restaurants, art galleries, and shops. There are also a lot of condos in the area, so the whole downtown is alive at night. There are lots of areas to walk.
The hotel room we had was on the ground floor, overlooking a little alleyway garden where someone had even planted herbs. There were 3 chairs and a desk, in addition to a small fridge, two beds, and several tables, but the room was not at all cramped. The only downside to the room was that for some reason, between about 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m., there always seemed to be doors slamming -- was never able to figure out who or why.
I was never able to get a good internet connection in the room (it may have been my browser settings), but I was able to use the computer in the lobby.
A complimentary breakfast buffet in the tearoom was good and a nice way to start the morning.
There were a few housekeeping issues, but they didn't really distract from the overall experience, and the hotel seemed genuinely interested in feedback.
To bottom line, it was an attractive, cozy, very enjoyable place to stay.
