I like staying in the Mount Vernon district of Baltimore, "midtown" about 8 or 9 blocks from the Inner Harbor. The First Cathedral in the US is one block away, the excellant Walters Art Gallery is also just one block away. Within 5 blocks are dozens of great restaurants. The rooms in this hotel are spotlessly clean, super comfortable mattress (but very high off the ground!) and the bathrooms sparkled with classy high polished granite countertops . The room was as good as any 4 star hotel: attractively decorated with cherry wood furniture lots of brass/crystal lamps and the big TV can be hidden in a lovely armoir. My only problem was there were college students who reside on one floor of the hotel, but they were not rowdy ... management should tell them not to loiter in the lobby. I always loved staying at the Peabody Court, two blocks away, but they were asking $179 a night and here I paid only $95. By the way, there is a garage directly across the street that charges $10 for 24 hours, and never closes ... pay no heed to the untruthful and bogus claims that the fee is twice as much or that it is not open 24/7.
