We just had our dinner at Shula's Steak house recently, and we were so dissapointed about the service, especially with Ms. Rachel, she really got an attitude! just because we didn't order an expensive wine or the most expensive steak, she didn't gave us the proper service, and you can really see from her face that she was annoyed with us! what a terrible service! definitely will not come back! if i were you guys, i'll ask for another server if in case you want to come!

“High price, mediocre in other areas”

Shula's had been recommended by freinds, so 4 of us went last Tuesday expecting a memorable dining occasion. It was memorable, but not in a positive way. To start with our waitperson seemed insulted that we didn't order their overpriced wine; when we ordered mixed drinks she said " you won't like the price of the mixed drinks either". Well, the price of the mixed drinks wasn't bad except that a glass of house white wine was $10. Added to this, the drinks took almost 25 minutes to arrive - after our salads had been served.
On a positive note, the salads were excellent. I'd love to know where they get their tomatoes in December. As far as the entrees are concerned the 2 filets were excellent, both in preparation and taste. The rib eye was decent but not exceptional. The Kansas City strip steak was perfectly done and pedestrian in quality, containing significant amounts of gristle and not very tender. I've had much better steaks from Safeway. Lastly, the creamed spinach was luke warm.

“Better take out a second mortgage”

I just read the other reviews of this restaurant and had to add my own two cents (which is about what you will have too, if you choose to dine here!)

Two of us went for dinner last Saturday night. Most of the entrees are printed on the football that sits in the middle of the table, but they're pretty boring. Our waiter recited the "specials" at 90 miles an hour, but neglected to mention the prices. (In a moment, you'll see why). My companion ordered a steak and crabcake combo; I chose two 5 ounce filets made with a peppercorn-brandy-cream sauce. Her entree (no sides mind you, they must be ordered separately with separate price tags) was $56! My entree (and those steaks were tiny) was $40. Remember: this is Baltimore --- not LA, not New York. And here's the kicker: the food was not even good!

So! If you are coming to this fine city to dine, do NOT come to Shulas Steak House. I live here and can recommend much better places to eat a good steak with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon on a white tablecloth that are in the downtown area, that serve better food, and that won't leave you feeling like you have been "had". Here are my choices:

Five star: The Prime Rib, Ruth Chris Steak House, or Charleston.

Four star: Brasserie Tatin, Petit Louis, or The Brass Elephant.

“The lowest rating isn't low enough”

The service, what little there was, was terrible. The table we sat at had just been cleaned off and wiped down, first thing I notice is my hands are now sticky and greasy. The food was hospital quality with a five star price. The Buffallo wings were average and that was the best part of the meal. I reallize it is a sports bar and with that comes smoke and noise but the non-smoking section was 5 feet from the room full of smokers with no barriers. After a brief look at the menu and the higher prices, youi expect to be getting great food and that was definitely not the case. As for the "signature" couscous, I wouldn't sign anyones name to it. My wife got a non-alcoholic mixed drink and the only thing missing was the alcohol because they charge full price anyway. It was by far the worst meal my wife and I have had in at least 3 years. Overall it was a terrible ending to what had been a great day in Baltimore. I just can't say enough bad about this place!

“Watch Out For the Fine Print”

I had dinner here expecting it to be pricey. I left feeling like I had been mugged by people with fancy clothes. The food was fine, but nothing that you wouldn't find at any reputable steak house. Here's the thing, they don't have a complete menu, the football that serves as a menu doesn't have all the entrees listed. Instead they roll a cart over and make "a presentation". Now here is where you need to say alert, becasue if you choose something not on the football there is nothing to refer back to and the prices on some of the entrees go way beyond the prices on the ball. Bottom line I was charged $110 for a lobster tail and the total bill for two of us was $250. Now there are places I would pay that much for a fine dinner, and think it was worth it, but this wasn't it. I expressed my concerns and was politely ignored. My advice. Check with the hotel concierge and go somewhere else.
