The location of this B & B is very convenient to downtown. However, it is on the fringe of a bad neighborhood. One of the guests had the car broken into while parking on the street. The cost to stay is very reasonable, but the breakfast offering is limited and did not care for the fact that we were eating on expensive china and we were reminded both days that the cups cost $100. Do not appreciate an innkeeper that feels compelled to boast about what they own. Also, not helpful in suggesting sightseeing ideas.

What an elegant and historic home - lovingly and carefully kept under constant restoration. My wife and I booked our stay at this location in order to be close to Artscape Baltimore, a premier annual. arts event of which I was an artist exhibitor. Guy and Clelia were charming hosts and very accommodating to my needs as an exhibitor.

The home is amazing... Absolutely beautiful woodwork, interesting floor plans, and well-appointed furnishings. Guy took the time to explain the restorations which had taken place and were continuing... We were pleasantly surprised to note some genuine Art Nouveau ironwork which had an interesting story accompanying it. If you go and are interested in such things, ask to see it..

We stayed in the Newport Room which was affordable for starving artists such as myself. The room was clean, neat, and well appointed. We shared a spacious bath with an adjoining room. Our stay was brightened by interesting breakfasts and conversation with our hosts and other guests. We were also within walking distance of Howard Street restaurants.

We had a great time and only wished we had more time to spend with our hosts.

There were 4 of us and we book the apartment for the weekend of the Baltimore and Red Sox games. This is a victorian style B&B is right off the highway and near the light rail station which is a convenient location.

One of my friend left some cash in a drawer before we left and when we return the money was missing. We called the inn keeper and report the thief, they told us that they have the money and they will return it the next morning. At breakfast, the inn keeper did bring out the money right away and told us that the previously tenants had call and told them that they might have left some valuable in the room. Which is fine but we were already check-in and they took money from our room without telling us or leaving us a note. I just thought it was not the right move.

Overall, it is a nice place I probably won't stay there again due to the incident but it is convenient and probably a good place for others.

I booked this trip via the B&B's website for an anniversary trip to Baltimore and to see an O's/Yankees game. The website was fairly user-friendly and we got our reservations confirmed within 24 hours. The prices are much better than other B&Bs and the hotels by the harbor.
We arrived and parked on the street on the outskirts of this "residential, Harlem-like neighborhood." There were some great brownstones in the area, as well as some dilapidated houses and refurbishments going on nearby. This house was a "diamond in the rough" compared to it's next door neighbors. We entered and waited in a parlor as the female innkeeper checked-in another guest. She then checked us in, took our coffee preference (Oddly enough, the next morning, the male innkeeper seemed baffled by the number of people requesting decaf coffee), and showed us to our room. She seemed to think the TV (combo TV/DVD player w/ Dish Network) was not working but I figured it out. The room, as was the rest of the house, beautifully decorated and spacious. We explored the rest of the house and found numerous seating areas on different floors, furniture and fixtures from all different areas, and decorations from all over the world.
The B&B's website and paperwork makes multiple mention of wine, cheese, and tea being available between 4:30-7 (depending on where it was written), however we saw no sign of any such thing. We milled around downstairs until we had to leave for our baseball game and did not notice any early evening repast provided. The female innkeeper had seen us hanging around the living room and some other guests milling about, but there was no attempt to offer us anything. At another B&B we stayed at, the innkeepers made it very clear where tea/coffee/wine/snacks were found, what rooms were off-limits, and what facilities the guests could use. Here, we got no such orientation. There was a keypad on the front door, which we also received no instruction on how to use, and got to work after a couple of attempts very late at night. We also had discovered that the previous guests did not flush the toilet before theey had left. I was quite surprised to notice this since the rest of the place seemed clean.
Our bed was firm, too firm for me, but my wife slept well. There was a window A/C which could have been a little more efficient and less noisy. We had chosen to eat breakfast at 9 the next morning and were invited into the dining room by the male innkeeper (first time we had seen him) and joined four other guests. Breakfast-time was very pleasant with the male innkeeper telling us some about the history of the house, the china, and some of the fixtures, as well as some about his personal life. The food itself was well-presented but lacking in overall nutritional value and quantity. We shared some diced fruit with various toppings offered and then served 3 pancakes with a banana-flavored syrup. I was surprised that there was no mention before-hand as to what the breakfast would be, and if we could have it customized in anyway. I was also very surprised that there was no protien (eggs or meat) served with the meal.
After breakfast, we retreated upstairs for a couple of hours, showered, and checked out. (We had to wait until we heard the female innkeeper answer the phone so we could hunt her down.) My wife and I would probably look into a different B&B when staying in Baltimore in the future before giving this one another shot. I see the previous poster had stayed there the same time we did and had a better review of the place...

We spent a lovely weekend at this exceptional bed and breakfast conveniently located to downtown. The house is a gorgeous old Victorian with eclectic decor ranging from Oriental artifacts and kimonos to old Singer sewing machine wrought iron used as tables. There is interesting furniture throughout the house which is fun to explore. Our two breakfasts were very good and served on elegant china. Our hosts were wonderful and helpful and gracious in every way. Our only problem was that there were many stairs to our room, part of which did not have a hand rail which was very difficult for my husband who is handicapped. We are to blame for not asking more specifically about location of the rooms, but for safety reasons, handrails should be installed on the short staircases. It was a great experience and we would recommend Wilson's B&B highly and would go back ourselves if we come to Baltimore again.
