After spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to find an affordable hotel near The Maryland Zoo In Baltimore and the National Aquarium in Baltimore, I gave up and started looking into B&B's. The Park Avenue B&B charged $145 for one night, which included full breakfast, a beautiful private bath and complimentary fruit and snacks in our room. One of the owners is an interior designer so, needless to say, the place was gorgeous. It felt like we’d stepped into the pages of a design magazine. The hosts, Phil and Gary are friendly and courteous and made us feel very welcome. Having breakfast with them was truly a pleasure. Yes, you do have to be social at breakfast, but Phil and Gary are so easy to talk to that even my husband, who dislikes B&B’s for this very reason, found himself enjoying the conversation. He talked more than I did! We found easy parking right across the street, both in the middle of the day and in the evening - something that can be hard to come by in Baltimore! My husband and I both recommend the Park Avenue Bed and Breakfast and would definitely stay there again.
