We had a wonderful time at Mr. Mole! We stayed there for our first anniversary this past weekend, and Collin, one of the owners, was a trip. He's very conversational and has recommendations for restaurants and whatnot, and is very responsive. We had a small ant problem in our bathroom, because there is a beautiful vine right outside the window, and he immediately brought up ant traps (we seem to have a history of ants enjoying our rooms with us, like we did on our honeymoon in St. Kitts!).
They think of the nicest little touches...we stayed in the BEAUTIFUL garden suite on the top floor (highly recommend), and when we checked in, we found that they had used children's letter blocks to spell out "Happy Anniversary" on the fireplace mantel. We also enjoyed the other personal touches such as chocolates in our room and calligraphy on the notes left for us.
The B&B is beautifully decorated, both the downstairs and our room, with fun little touches everywhere (I'd hate to have to dust this place). There's no TV, but you don't miss it, and why would you want it if you're celebrating something as romantic as an anniversary? Our room had a sunroom as well, and a huge bathroom and closet. The whole place just oozes charm and is very inviting. Having a garage space is wonderful, too. I'm not sure a minivan would fit in it as my Honda Accord just barely did, but that was great too.
Breakfast is wonderful and very inventive...Collin must get up very early to bake bread (the walnut bread was to die for!) and make special fruit dishes. The coffee was delicious and we enjoyed relaxing over a carefree breakfast.
Our only complaint was the dust around the edges of the room...there are so many knicknacks it must be hard to keep the rooms clean, but I noticed a build-up of dust on baseboards and curtains and the molding. It didn't bother my allergies and wouldn't keep me from coming back, but that along with the ants (they should regularly use bug spray) is the only reason it's not a perfect 5.
We would recommend Mr. Mole without hesitation. You will not be disappointed. We look forward to returning anytime we find ourselves in Baltimore, and have even thought of trips we could take that include Mr. Mole. What fun!
