The people who have opened this inn should be applauded on the job they've done rehabbing the property...the marble bathrooms are great, the towels are fluffy and the rooms are done up in four-poster beds, velvet drapes, etc in an over-the-top, romantic style. (It's not remotely in keeping with the property's era, but hey...it's fine.)
However, sleeping here is like sleeping on a highway. It's got what seem to be non double-paned windows and is located so close to a major car artery that, when we came back to your room, it was nearly impossible to sleep. Cars zoomed by, some playing really loud music. Motorcycles revved, car alarms went off.
We finally drifted off to sleep, only to be woken up by drunk people stumbling home from LIttle Italy bars. Lots of yelling, little sleep.
The walls also seem very thin within the place....we heard a baby crying from the next room, and what seemed to be a Jacuzzi starting up in the room above at 2 a.m. and then again at 3 a.m.
Really, this makes me sound like a picky old lady, but I think paying $200 or more a night really should mean it's quieter than this. I'd only come back if I heard they'd changed the windows...this is truly, truly sad, because I think the owners mean well....they just have no idea what torture it is to sleep here!
