This hotel was very easy to get to as it is located right off the highway - you can't miss it! Just to let you know there is a truck stop across the street but you cannot hear the trucks when you are in your room, which my room faced and even then I couldn't hear anything. The free shuttle to and from the Harbor was very nice. Just hope there isn't anything going on in town because then the shuttle will hit traffic, which in turn affects the pick-up/drop-off times. Also, at the price I paid, which was $109 plus tax, the free breakfast was a nice perk. I'm not a big breakfast person, but my boyfriend liked it well enough. So if you don't want to stay in the Harbor proper, then this is a nice hotel to stay at. The neighborhood surrounding it isn't that nice, but we only stayed for 1 night so it didn't really bother us that much.

Where do I start?

Well, it's not in a great location but then again the location is the best part of this hotel. Close to the inner-harbor, close to Canton with its cafes and restaurants, close to Little Italy, close to sporting fileds and close to JohnsHopkins.

Since I am here on business and not tourism, the proximity to restaurant is most important and it has a bed and fairly clean.

Its a basic no frills bestwestern..I have never felt unsafe. Has a weak breakfast which is included.

The front desk seems to be nice to me but I do stay alot on business.

Best Western Hotel & Conference Center

I stayed at the Best Western because there is a free shuttle to the Johns Hopkins Hospitals and it was significantly less expensive than other area hotels.

After reading the reviews on this site, I was skeptical of the place, but I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. The hotel lobby is large and well-furnished and the entire hotel itself is fairly large. The room was nice, there was free wireless Internet, a fridge and microwave with no extra charge, and the bathroom was sufficient, but old (there was some stuff peeling from corners/walls). The shower head was nice. The hotel is definitely old, but this did not detract from my stay. There is a free hot breakfast and a free shuttle that goes to both the hospitals (Johns Hopkins Bayview and Johns Hopkins Hospital) and the Inner Harbor and maybe somewhere else. I initially thought there was a free shuttle to the airport, but there is not. I used a Super Shuttle which was only $21 to get to the airport. There are supposed to be taxis outside at all times, but the one time I needed a quick taxi there wasn't one and they had to call for one at the desk.

The shuttle is supposed to leave every hour on the hour (it would be more efficient to schedule passengers when they want to go instead of fixed times since you have to register for the shuttle, there aren't that many passengers, and destinations), but I waited ~30 minutes for one when I was scheduled to leave and was picked up 45 minutes late after I was done at my destination, so it is not prompt. I think the latest pickup from the Inner Harbor is 10:30pm. The driver was nice, however. Once my key did not work on the door and they had to reprogram it, but otherwise I had no other problems.

The hotel is directly connected to a Greyhound bus stop which also has a small food court, but the entrance has been chained off (ostensibly because of the characters at the Greyhound station), so to get to the food court or station you have to leave the hotel, walk outside for a couple minutes, and then enter the other part. There is also a McDonald's within walking distance of the hotel, but not much else. There is a restaurant in the lobby of the hotel which was quite nice.

I would recommend this hotel to others.

This was my family's second visit to the Best Western on O'Donnell St., and it will be the last. We stayed there because of the shuttle service to/from Johns Hopkins Hospital where my father was undergoing an operation. However, unlike our first visit several years ago, the hotel shuttle no longer keeps early hours (if your operation is prior to 7:30 AM, you're out of luck). We had been told when making reservations that the shuttle ran 24-hours. Not so.

This hotel has seriously deteriorated in quality in the four years since we were last there. Would not recommend it for anyone who cannot easily get around on their own.

Other problems with hotel:
- Room not clean: found a long hair hanging out of the coffee maker.
- Housekeeping skipped our room for no apparent reason, and no explanation was given. By the time we returned (after 4PM), my father was convalescing on the bed and it would have been inappropriate to have housekeeping come in as they offered to do (after 4 PM!)
- 50% of the light bulbs were burned out in the room.
- Wireless service intermittent.
- A simple grilled cheese sandwich ordered in the restaurant came out cold and with a strange taste. Other food barely edible.
- Lobby bathroom out of order our first night there, which meant a trip back upstairs for elderly people.
- Hot tub not working in the "pool" area.
- Surly front desk staff the morning we checked out. A simple question was met with hostility and attitude.
- Very little service orientation at this hotel. Some staff are friendly enough, but it's clear that there is no real management of services. Definitely do not recommend eating at the restaurant unless it's the breakfast buffet (the only bright spot about the place).

We spent a night at this hotel to visit Toby's Dinner Theater and the service was wonderful. The lobby was very nice and the rooms were great. I actually felt at home with the staff. The shuttle driver that took us to the Harbor was very nice and fun to be around. We found it a joy to tip him for his service. (He never mentioned a tip to us). I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Although the bus terminal is connected to this hotel, you would not know it unless you look that way. I had 22 guest with me and everyone enjoyed this hotel. I will be returning.
