After reseaching different hotels on Tripadvisor, I decided to book the Days Inn Inner Harbor for a 3 day "tourist" vacation. I was very happy with my choice. Check in was a breeze, staff was friendly and helpful and the location couldn't be beat-just three short blocks to the harbor. Our room was very clean and big enough for the purpose it served. The bathroom was spotless, no mold around the tub and plenty of towels. The coffee pot, microwave and fridge was an extra bonus. You do get charged $1.00 a day for the safe but that was no biggie. There were 4 pillows on the bed (queen size), 2 are soft, 2 are hard, that's a choice I never had in other hotels. My only complaint about the room was that you couldn't open the windows for some fresh air. My AAA rate of $152 a day was very reasonable considering what other hotels in the area get. We ate breakfast everyday at the hotel for convenience. Food was good, nothing great, just typical breakfast fare. All in all, I thought the hotel was excellent and would stay here again without hesitation.

Days Inn Inner Harbor

Pros
The front desk was very helpful and friendly!

It mostly seemed pretty clean!

Cons
They give you little three little bottles with shampoo/Cond. and lotion, although ours were used and half empty.

The coffee maker was broken!

There were were black hairs all over the bathroom and in the towels, thats a huge problem for me so I didn't end up showering there which I wanted to.

Although this is called Days Inn Inner Harbor, its several blocks away from the inner harbor, I thought it was closer!

No free breakfast - most Days Inn offer that!

18 dollars to park your car for 1 day!

I stayed at the Inner Harbor Days Inn when I attended an EMS conference in March. I had attended this conference previously, and had stayed at the Hyatt (*bleagh*) and the Sheraton (not bad). This year I was planning the trip on a budget, and that left the Days Inn.

Wow.

Was I surprised.

On my arrival the staff was friendly and accommodating. Check-in was a breeze, the lobby was intimate and immaculate. The entire hotel is NON-SMOKING...yes!! $200 a day fee if you're caught pollut...er....smoking in your room. There are only 2 elevators, but compared to the sloth-like lifts at the Hyatt, these were bullet trains. The room was small but spotless and inviting. Two full beds, newish mattress sets that were quite comfortable to sleep on, and no questionable stains on the quilts. Bathroom was smallish, with a commode and tub...sink and mirror were in the room in another niche next to the closet alcove. The shower was great; good pressure and you didn't have to wait a year for hot water. The room included a small fridge and a microwave; the Sheraton and Hyatt did not. Nice touch, if you ask me. The closet was an alcove without a door for your hanging items, the iron and ironing board, but hey...didn't bother me. Typical TV/armoire setup, with typical hotel channel choices, and pay-per-view movies (no I didn't watch any porn!) One of the nicest perks is FREE in-room wireless Internet access.

That's right....FREE!

Costs $10 a day at the other, more expensive places, and the free service was much faster! There is a nice desk to surf the Web from. The in-hotel restaurant was good too; typical hotel-inflated prices but the food was yummy. Free USA Today if you want to get dressed and go down to the front desk and grab one. In-room pod coffee maker worked great, and the coffee didn't suck either. The pool was covered due to winter, but the workout room was nicely appointed. Self park for $18 a day (cheaper than the other places by $2/day); bring your ticket to the front counter to get it activated so you can come and go as you please by inserting it into the gate machines in the garage. ATM in the hotel lobby too. Easy walking distance to Camden Yards, Metro Station, the Convention Center, and Inner Harbor attractions, even for a chubby chum like me. Street noise isn't too bad, although there must be a Fire Station near, as sirens were audible quite often.

Minuses: ice machine on my floor was broken initially; fixed in a day. Candy machine ate another guest's money-it was also fixed quickly. Prices for the vending items were the same as you'd find at the local CVS...not inflated like the other hotels. Also, one wall outlet in my room was dead, but only a minor inconvenience.

I highly recommend this hotel especially if you're just looking for a comfortable place to sleep while you visit the Inner Harbor area. Save money by not staying at the other, higher priced locales.

I rated my overall experience as average but on a European standard I'd say it's above average. The rooms are clean and comfortable, hallways are also like that. The lobby is rather small but staff are friendly. The breakfast room is ok and I have to say the servant with the breakfast was unusually helpful and interested in us, large pluses for that service even though the breakfast is not included in the room price. The car parking was not included either and it's a bit expensive. We only stayed in the hotel for one night and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

You may see some mixed reviews about this hotel, but I am here to tell you that it MORE than met my expectations!! We stayed for two nights and our needs were entirely fulfilled. Were some people who reviewed this hotel expecting the Ritz? It may be a Days Inn, but it was very very clean, very conveniently located, and very comfortable -- everything I wanted, especially at a rather inexpensive hotel (they even let us check in 3 hours early!). We had a single room that featured a queen sized bed, table with chair, small fridge, microwave, and large sofa. Yes, the sink is located outside the bathroom, but that posed zero problems. This hotel was perfect for my stay and the next time I visit Baltimore I will most def look them up again!! The only downside, and I cant imagine it would be different anywhere else - - parking in the parking lot was $18 per day, but hey, it IS a city afterall. GO!
