This hotel definately was not a close to the harbor as the ad made it seem! Our room was not exactly clean when we checked in, there were pop rings on the desk from the prior guests. The bathroom was tiny, although the vanity outside was a plus. The porters were very helpful and friendly. The pool was very warm and clean! The front desk staff needs some work. When we went to check out there was a problem with our bill. I was being charged double for parking and when I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff the girl, who spoke minimal english, did not understand my problem. Finally about 10 minutes later someone in the office heard me getting aggrivated and came to promptly fix the charges. After checking out we realized we left a bag in our room. They were very helpful and were able to ship our bag to the next hotel we were staying at, and even helped us locate it whent the next hotel lost it.

The reason why we stayed here was that we got a sweet deal from Hotwire. The hotel advertises to be 3 blocks from Inner Harbour - that maybe true, but those are not three small blocks.

The hotel is nice, clean and modern. We are very happy with the king-size bed room that we got.

Parking is $15 per day with multiple entries.

Family weekend in Baltimore. We turned in accumulated Priority Club points for three rooms and stayed at the Holiday Inn, Inner Harbor. We received two welcome gifts for using our points at their hotel. Very nice with various Baltimore themed items - peanuts, stuffed crab, Baltimore coffee mug, Baltimore playing cards. We ate at McKenna's Restaurant for breakfast twice. Kids ate free which is always a plus. Food was very good and the service was good. Dotties Cafe is in the Lobby and is very convenient for coffee and tea (or desert) in the evenings. Camden Yards is out your window. Games all weekend and we were never bothered by any "noise" from the ballpark. They did have fireworks on Friday night, but unfortuately our room did not face Camden Yards so we could hear them, but not enjoy them. We did face the Rescue Company. We heard the firetrucks coming and going, but since we are a "volunteer fire co" family, this noise was second nature to us. The indoor pool is very big and our kids loved it! They really cater nicely to the little ones providing floaties, noodles and beachballs for the kids to play with. The fitness room looked very big and had an open window that looked out to the pool area. Few blocks walk to Inner Harbor which is very doable, even in the heat that we experienced. Only complaints- the A/C in our room and my brother's room was pretty noisy and our rooms were not cleaned by the time we returned at 5pm. Not sure if they are understaffed. I was able to get clean towels from the gal with the cart in the hallway, but my brother had to call the front desk to have his room cleaned and get new towels. All in all, nice stay and I would return if I find myself visiting Baltimore again - perhaps take in a ballgame!

“Location, Location, ok rooms”

Holiday Inn Baltimore - Inner Harbor

10 Jul 2006

My wife and my six year old kid went to Baltimore for a conference. We had a problem the first morning of the six night stay, since we noticed the ceiling had a bubble and it was sagging above the bath tub. Unfortuntately, I poked and prodded a little too much, and about 2 cups of water came pouring down. Apparently, the room above us had a leak in the plumbing. Since the person in the room above us did not want to vacate so the staff could repair, the only other room they could offer us was in another wing of the hotel, and it only had one queen sized bed. Considering that the hotel was booked solid during the conference, I was glad they were able to arrange another room. It took a couple of hours to negotiate the switch (and repack, move the gear and unpack), but they did offer a good discount on the room, and a free dinner that night. It was a smaller room, but they were able to fit in a rollaway bed for the kid. Overall, the kid really enjoyed having an indoor swimming pool, and the water was nice and warm. We also liked the location since it was close to Camden Yards, the Inner Harbor, the light rail stops and the convention center.

When I arrived at this facility, the front desk checked me into a dank, dreary SMOKING room. I called the front desk and the "assistant manager" screamed at me that I got what I'd ordered. I'd made my reservation via internet directly to their hotel but I know that, since I'm highly allergic to smoke, I had reserved a non-smoking room. He went on to say that maybe I could get a different room tomorrow but refused to give me any details. It was late and I was hungry - so I ordered a pizza. When I went to pick up it up, the gracious and friendly night auditor promised to get me a non-smoking room - all I had to do was make sure my stuff was repacked. (I never unpacked as the smell so horrific in the room.) When I checked for the new room number the following evening (I was away on business all day) the same asst. manager yelled at me that he didn't have any non-smoking rooms available and that I would just have to stay where I'd ordered! One of the clerks took pity on me and slipped me the key to the new room which the night auditor had arranged. I thought everything would be fine, despite the disservice - but on the 3rd day a lady next to me waiting for a shuttle showed several of us her room bill and it HAD MY HOME ADDRESS ON IT!!! Guess who told me this was impossible? After a TWO hour conversation with several "managers" I was assured it didn't really happen. (Actually, they cancelled my non-smoking room reservations and gave it to this other lady, including my credit card information!!!) After the exhausing discussion, I finally went upstairs, got ready for bed, pulled back the covers and there was a cockroach in my bed. Right next to the live one, was a dead one, too. It was so late and I was so tired that I pulled the desk chair up to the lounge chair and slept between them....there was no way I could call the front desk and ask for another room--

Overall, this is the WORST experience I have ever had at any hotel -- and I've been traveling on business and for pleasure for years and years and years. I'll never stay at any other Holiday Inn - I do not like my private, confidential information revealed to ANYONE and in this age of Identity Theft, they were unable to reassure me that this wouldn't happen again.

And yes, I was charged for each and every night that I stayed at this hotel! And I didn't get a travel bargain - it was the room rate assigned to my company which is not especially cheap!
