I'd been out of my room from early morning 'til evening and when I went to get dressed for bed, I noticed that some of my clothing was missing. I immediately called the front desk because the maids had cleaned my room that morning. The person at the front desk said she'd look in the garbage for my clothing. I don't believe she ever did. She told me later that night to make a list of what was missing and present the list at checkout the next morning. At checkout they told me the general manager would contact me within the day. I waited 'til the next day, and when no one had contacted me, I phoned the hotel. I was told the general manager went on vacation. I asked if someone else could deal with this problem since the general manager was away. I was told that one of two people would phone me back. I waited about three days for someone to phone me back, but they never did. I phoned the hotel again and asked for housekeeping. The head of housekeeping (who had the same last name as the general manager) said she'd look in the lost and found. She didn't find my things in lost and found. She said she'd talk to her staff who'd cleaned my room on the day in question and phone me back in a couple days. The phone call never came. I then phoned the 800 complaint line for Best Western. I was told I had to wait until a week after I'd checked out to file a complaint. I phoned the 800 number back a couple days later and filed a complaint. They told me that the hotel's general manager had 7 days to respond. After 7 days passed, the 800 number phoned me and said the general manager had made no response. I then filed an on-line complaint. Again, zero satisfaction. The *ONLY* satisfaction I received was from American Express because I'd charged my airline ticket on my American Express card and I have trip insurance. My clothing loss was covered under my trip insurance.
