We stayed here for one evening prior to flying out for a 4 day vacation. Chose this hotel because of close proximity to BWI airport. Hotel itself is nice and we had no problem checking in. We liked the fact that we could pay $5 a day to park while we were gone and just catch a shuttle for free to and from the airport. Our disappointment came when we arrived back from vacation and found that our car battery was dead, We went to the front desk to ask for assistance and received a very condescending comment as well as no help at all from an employee named Anthony. Another employee, however, did take over, named David, and was able to get someone in their maintenance area to assist us with a jump so that we wouldn't have to use our roadside assistance and wait for help.
Staff cold and unfriendly. Did not make me feel welcome at all, particularly the front desk supervisor, David, upon checking in. I have stayed at the Marriott Courtyard down the street in the past, and the staff there goes out of their way to be helpful. I can not say the same for this "3-star" full service Marriott that we stayed in this time.
The price was good for this place, but I'm sure we only got it because the hotel is in deperate need of a renovation. The room was nice enough, and the bed was comfortable, which I guess makes up for the unfriendly staff. Passed one Marriott employee in the hallway who did not say hello or ask how my stay is. The only reason this place was acceptable was because we got it on priceline for $65/night or something.
We decided to have a get-away vacation to Baltimore, MD. We chose to go when the NY Yankees were in town to play the Orioles. Because of this game- the hotels in the harbor raise their prices and sell out months in advance. We would have to pay approx $300- $400 a night in the harbor and we were not looking at spending that kind of money.
So we booked the room here. The room itself was clean and perfect. They had a shuttle bus that ran often to the airport. From the airport you could take the light rail to the harbor. Approx 25 min ride. It was perfect. We were able to experience everything we wanted to do without having to park in the harbor.
Would recommend this for those that dont mind traveling a little bit to the harbor. I thought the price was perfect for what we wanted.
We stayed here because it was close to the airport and I felt safe as a mom with a small child. It was beautiful to look at but when we got tot the pool area it was cold and had green mold in alot of areas. The whirlpool water was warm but not as clean as I would haved like. They did have a lifeguard on duty so I told him the pool was cold. There was noone else in the water but the mom leaving before us said it was too cold to swim in also. Once back in the room I ordered room service for my little girl, they said it would be about a half hour, after about an hour I called and they said they were really busy and they would try to get it to me in 15 minutes or so but I cancelled because it was too late and my child was now almost asleep. The hotel was very busy that night and down the hall from us someone was having a party until 3am! I didn't call to complain because I didn't want to wake my child up and I didn't know what room it was in.
