This Marriott is a great hotel for business travelers, conferences, wedding receptions, and other events. However, I will not reccommend it for families with children due to the small (NYC size) rooms.
I was there recently at a business conference. The hotel food and banquet halls were great.
Hotel Pros are:
Great dining
Fairly clean rooms
Complimemtary Shuttle bus to and from the airport
Easy access to the highway, Arundel Mills Malls, and other dining
Free room service menu for children under the age of 5
Room service prices were reasonable
Free parking
Cons are:
The carpet in the rooms were not that clean, because my socks were black from walking without shoes.
Small rooms
Not for families- my toddler had no space to play
Hotel restaurant prices are a little pricey
I highly recommend this hotel for business travelers and for those who are having events only.
When I checked in, I was given a smoking room. The desk clerk insisted that is what I had requested when I made my reservation. Being 7 months pregnant and having never smoked in my life, I highly doubt that. I insisted upon a non-smoking room, and he finally found one - the furthest from the elevator at the end of a long hallway. Good times when you're as pregnant as I am! The TV didn't work, but they replaced it for me a day later.
My friend was in a room for 3 days with a non-working shower. The front desk never offered to move her, and in fact suggested that she use the shower in the gym! The manager offered her a free coffee at Starbucks to make up for her troubles. Ridiculous.
I have stayed at this hotel before, and was much more impressed then. The customer service, particularly at the front desk, needs a lot of work.
We stayed here for a Wedding in early June. This was a beautiful hotel.
A truly classy room with a very comfortable bed, great pool area, fun bar, friendly staff. Absolutely no complaints.
Also, great access to BWI Airport and the Interstate.
This is the first place I stayed after spending five months overseas in the war zone. I had to stay overnight in Baltimore because my connecting flight to Georgia was not until the day after I returned. So, of course I found a Marriott hotel, and, as always, the Marriott did not disappoint me. The check-in was seamless. The room was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable---as one would expect from Marriott with the new REVIVE bed. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant, because there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance, and driving distance of the hotel. There was a Bob Evans and a Ruby Tuesday (or TGIF) right down the street...less than a block. Finally, my Marriott Rewards points were credited at the time of check-out, not ten days later like some "other" rewards programs. The ONLY issue I had with this hotel is that the bathtub is VERY small---but that's a minor thing, considering the bathroom was still quite "classy and stylish." I would strongly recommend this hotel anytime!
